For many, the best way to deal with a traumatic event is to turn to humour. When the FCC voted recently to repeal rules and regulations that protect net neutrality, the internet responded with furious outrage in the way it knows best, hilariously biting memes and tweets.

While some reactions (particularly those directed at villain of the piece, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai) get dangerously close to crossing the line between humour and outright abuse, most have been as creative, sarcastic and ingeniously funny as we have come to expect from the hive mind of the internet. While we can continue to have fun with this for some time to come, it's important to note that the issue is far from settled. While the FCC claims to act in the interest of the public, these kind of protests flooding in from all angles expose this as a falsehood. The protests do have an effect, as there are people working behind the scenes to protect our rights and by making our voices heard we give them valuable tools to work with!

We here at Bored Panda have compiled a list of the best reactions so far to the controversial vote. Scroll down below to check them out, and let us know what you think in the comments. If you are in the U.S. and want to aid the cause for net neutrality you can text 'Resist' to 50409 or 'Battle' 384387. You can also call the FCC directly on 1-888-225-5322. Don't forget to do your research to understand the issue and be aware of your rights!

I would actually miss Blockbuster in a nostalgic 90s-2000s way.

If that was the case, I would climb into the machine and knock out every single tooth the old-fashioned way!
