“Love thy neighbor” sounds lovely. On paper. But it’s an extremely hard idea to follow when your neighbors act like weirdos that can’t help but get up all in your business.

Drama between folks living next to one another can (and does) arise over pretty much anything and everything. Christmas lights that are up too early. Tomato plants that some confuse with pot plants. And who can forget the classics like getting angry that your neighbors don’t mow their lawn as often as you do?

The ‘Best of Nextdoor’ Twitter page does what it says on the tin and collects the most off-the-hook examples of neighborhood weirdness from the ‘Nextdoor’ app that’s meant to be a place for neighborly concerns, updates, and complaints. Check out some of the hilarious posts below and don’t forget to let us know which ones you liked best.

Jenn Takahashi from California is the mastermind behind the entire wholesome and lighthearted project. Her efforts since 2017 have amassed her a whopping 422k ardent supporters on Twitter, 57.8k fanatical fans on Instagram, and over 29k followers on Facebook.

What started with tweeting out posts shared with Jenn by her friends eventually snowballed into a huge community that sends in funny ‘Nextdoor’ tips.

The ‘Best of Nextdoor’ Twitter account is quite the celebrity-attractor on the net—it’s drawn in some big names from all around, according to SFGate. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, model Chrissy Teigen, and actors Angela Kinsey and Rainn Wilson are just some of her more notable followers. And who can blame them? Stars have neighbors, too.

For the founder of ‘Best of Nextdoor,’ the project isn’t about the cash—it’s about the laughs. Or rather, sharing them with as many people as she can. She greatly enjoys making people’s day better and welcomes all of the positive feedback. So if you enjoyed her content, be sure to drop her a line and say ‘hi.’

Last year, Jenn would get around 50 submissions to look through each day and would narrow those down to the very best. Her rule of thumb is to look for peculiar stories that have funny and lighthearted elements to them. Anything that borders too much on the gritty side of realism is out of the question.

"I don't post anything that puts a damper on your day,” she told SFGate’s Amy Graff. Now that’s the kind of philosophy that Bored Panda can fully support.

To me that is actually a lot. Don’t see many Aussie flags at private residences/businesses. They are mainly at government buildings like schools, council offices, universities etc. They come out of the woodwork for Australia day though.

Dear "neighbor", give it 8 years and the problem won't be present anymore. The child will be grown up and your pets dead. Love, neighbor.

Another neighbour from Hell. I once saved a seven or eight-year old girl who was chased by a pit bull (yes, it was serious, I only got to them in the nick of time) and once the owner of the dog caught up with it he complained about the irresponsible parents who let their children out!

Good for you for being a hero. I hate it when pit bulls are bred to be dangerous. I've met so many who are gentle and sweet. This dog should not have been running loose like that.

Can't wait to see the officers' faces. "Your complaint is that... someone lets their child play outside, in a yard, in good weather. Uh-huh." *starts reading rights for filling a nuisance complaint and wasting police time*

I’d rather put up with a child playing than someone’s music blasted so loud the walls in the first five houses on any side shake. Any day. AN. Y. DAY.

And for God's sake don't let them climb the trees in their own yard because that is not okay. Never mind I play music on the patio at all hours but your kids are restricted from 7am to 7pm during daylight hours is insufficient - those are the hours I recover from my blatant alcohol consumption and toking that goes with my music. And yes I will laugh as my dogs sound like they will tear apart the old fence to get at your preschoolers to use a chew toys. Never had to deal with this either. At all.

I can be a very petty man when I want to be, I would now be in the garden running around with the kid making a hell of a lot more noise than a child does, I love dogs and kids not so much but this is just outrageous.

When we first bought our house 20 years ago, we were putting up the kennel near the house for the dogs. The woman who lives next door, I call her c*ntly, stood on a ladder or something to look over a 6-foot privacy fence to tell us "I wish I could say it's ok for you to put the kennel there, but it's not." She put dead fish on our porch and called animal control on our dogs so many times; the animal control guy actually came into our house/yard to see all the things we had done to keep the dogs quiet. They were told to stop calling or they could be charged forharassment.

Wouldn't you just love to be the dispatcher who takes this 911 call? This reminds me of the complete & utter moron who thought the "deer crossing" signs should be moved because it was dangerous for the deer to cross the highway at that particular spot. She was totally serious - like the freaking deer were crossing the road because the sign told them to.

Yeah, ask a small child to tone it down. That'll fix it. Someone needs to tell this neighbor to tone it down a lot. If he phones the police over this I suspect someone will--the police.

Please keep your nose out of my yard and business. When we first bought our house 20 years ago, the fence was wonky, so we built the kennel near the house. The woman who lives next door, I call her cu*tly, stuck her head over the fence and said "I wish I could say it's ok for you to build the kennel there, but it's not. Had trouble with her for about 3 years, she kept calling animal control. We even put a 'kennel' in the basement for when we were at work. The animal control guy came by and I showed him all we had done and they were told to stop calling.
