No, It’s Not A Closeup Of Cement

If you thought it was cement, look more closely. Delhi, India, has approximately 25 million residents. The neighborhoods of Santosh Park and Uttam Nagar (both shown in the picture) are home to some of the city’s poorest people and are very densely populated. This picture belongs to an Instagram channel called dailyoverview which constantly shows their 424,000 followers just how beautiful Earth is from above.

How is this photo "beautiful"? It's a social, sanitary and environmental disaster. It's terrifying.
yeah. I actually keep hoping that a place like this will be the breeding ground for some pathogen that will wipe out half of human population off this planet and maybe give it a chance to survive.
Load More Replies...I knew it was a city, but it still blows my mind... there are probably 30 trees in this whole section... awful conditions
I never thought this was a close up of cement, I thought it was a bird's eye view of a city, a sad sad bird's eye view
It's not because it's a "more populated country", it's because everyone wants to enjoy the benefits of living in "country's capital". Everyone's buying home in capital to gain future benefits. Happens in all countries that gives people the freedom to live in whatever state they want without following the "shouldn't be bigger than government building" rules.
Indian families now seem to be smaller families than previously, at least in the North where 1 or 2 children is the norm so it's possible that the population will start to stabilise as the country continues to become more developed.

Load More Replies...This makes me dizzy looking at it. The population of India is growing everyday... I think women in less developed countries give more births since they have less opportunities to work and pursue their dreams. They don't have a good education system.
yes, lack of education and economic opportunity... but also social and economic strictures against family planning that keep women from deciding when to start families, how big those families should be, etc. you cannot look at population control without seeing the importance of contraceptives and other means of family planning being made available to women, and giving them the civil and human right to decide for themselves what to do with their own bodies.
