Entitled Neighbor Keeps Parking Car In This Woman’s Driveway, She Gets His Car Towed
They say you can’t choose your family and very often the same applies to your neighbors. A person can consider themselves to be lucky if they are on good terms with their neighbors that are nice, understanding, and ready to lend a helping hand. But what to do if the people that live next door think that they are better than you and make your life miserable with their actions? One Reddit user, @Jeleki2020, decided to share the story that involved her entitled neighbors who thought that they were allowed to do whatever they wanted without accepting any consequences for their actions.

A lot of people would agree that it’s quite important to have a good relationship with your neighbors as you never know when you’re going to need a helping hand from them

The woman started her story by stating that she lives with her two teenage sons in a quiet neighborhood where every property has a garage. Since the woman lives there alone with her kids, she has only one car that she likes to park in her garage, while her neighbors have multiple cars that they sometimes park in their driveway or in the street. But even though there were a lot of cars in the neighborhood, those who lived there never had any issue with parking.
One Reddit user decided to share how she got involved in a dreadful dispute with her neighbors

The woman gave some background information about her neighborhood and people’s parking habits as it is important to the story

The author of the post added that she has met the family that just moved in next door

The situation changed when a new family moved in next to the author’s house. The woman was friendly enough to go and meet the new neighbors, and everything seemed to be going well. The new family living nearby consisted of mom, dad, and their three teenagers. The author of the post was quite happy with the family as they seemed to be friendly. She also noticed that they used their garage to store their things, and parked all of their four cars in the driveway. This is when this information becomes important to the story.
The woman presented the main “characters” of the story that took some time to unfold

One day, her next-door neighbor came to her to talk about his son getting his first car
One evening, the woman was at home when her neighbor, the dad, came knocking at her door and struck up a conversation. He stated that one of his kids had just turned 16, so they bought him a truck. The problem was that they didn’t have much space to park the car, so they asked the woman whether his son could park his truck in her driveway. The woman explained that she can’t allow his son to park it there because she uses this driveway and his car will block her way. The man was determined to convince her to allow him to use her driveway anyway, but the woman disagreed, pointing out that they bought a huge truck without thinking about where to park it. She ended the conversation by stating that she wouldn’t change her mind and she needed to get back to her sick kid.
The man asked if his son could park his car in her driveway because it’s a big car and they don’t have enough space in their own property

The woman disagreed with this because she uses her driveway and doesn’t find it acceptable for him to park there
The next day, the woman shared this story with her coworkers, and one of them thought it would be a good idea for her to write an email to her homeowner’s association (HOA), just to report the situation in case it escalated any further, so she did so.
The author of the post made it clear that she wouldn’t allow the truck to be parked in her driveway and couldn’t even believe she was asked such a thing
She even sent an email to HOA about the situation just to have it on the record

One evening, the woman noticed that her son didn’t feel good, so she decides to take him to the doctor for a checkup. The woman was about to leave when she noticed that the neighbor’s son’s truck was in her driveway. She went to her neighbor’s to solve the problem and once again reminded them that their son couldn’t park his car on her driveway, and if it happened again, she would get the car towed. While the woman was in the minor emergency room, she once again notified the HOA about the problem with the neighbors.

The situation escalated further when the woman had to go see a doctor because one of her kids was sick
She was about to leave the house when she saw that her driveway was blocked by neighbor’s truck
The woman shared that during the weekend, they spent a lot of time in the minor emergency room as well as picking up some prescriptions. After an exhausting day, the woman and her kids were headed back home where she again found the truck parked in her driveway. The woman kept her promise to call a tow truck if she found the car on her property again. It took 30 minutes for the truck to arrive and tow the car. The author of the post once again notified the HOA of this.
She went to the neighbors and made it clear once again that he couldn’t park his car there and that if it happened again, his truck will be towed
The next morning, the neighbor came banging at her door, asking where the car was. He wasn’t happy with the answer and even called the police. Then the officer and the woman had a conversation and this was when she showed him all of the evidence she had: emails to HOA, pictures, and the video she made when the neighbor came to her door and asked her where his son’s car was. Their conversation ended in the woman stating that she would like to file a report for trespassing.

Later, the woman had to go to see the doctor once again because her kid wasn’t feeling that well
The situation ended in the son receiving a $150 fine as well as the parents finally understanding that they should replace his car with a smaller one, which they did. They no longer parked it in the woman’s driveway. The author of the post also revealed a brighter side to this story: she became really close friends with one of the neighbors who was kind enough to give her his phone number in case she needs anything and help her with her lawn. His nice gestures weren’t unnoticed as the woman then started inviting him to dinners, and even asked him to join their family at Thanksgiving. She stated that he reminded her a lot of her grandfather, so she was happy that this whole situation ended up with her having a “second grandparent.”
Once she was back, she saw that the “famous” truck was once again in her driveway
There was no other way but to call the tow truck service and get the car removed
A lot of people online became invested in this story as it took a while to unfold. A lot of them were concerned about her and her kids’ safety because it seemed that this family won’t leave things that easily and might even plot a revenge plan. So they advised the woman to get cameras that she actually did install for everyone’s safety. Users online agreed with the woman and were impressed with how she handled the situation. What do you think about this story? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comment down below!

The next morning, when the neighbor couldn’t find the car, he came to the woman’s house and was furious after finding out that it was towed
The neighbor called the police on the woman but she was ready to talk about the situation as she had all the evidence
She showed all the emails, pictures, and a video that showed how her neighbors trespassed her property and harassed her
The woman filed a report on trespassing, notified her HOA once again on the situation and waited to see how this situation would end
The woman didn’t get any shocking outcome from the situation but was happy to see how many people became invested in this story
The woman provided users online with a final update by telling that the neighbor received a $150 fine
It was also added that the family finally decided to sell the truck and buy a smaller car for their son

Share on FacebookI had this keep happening and I parked behind the person who kept blocking me in. Then I refused to answer my door.
I did something very similar at an appartment complex that had assigned parking spots. I kept coming home for lunch and someone was parked in my spot. I got sick of it and parked directly behind the person and waited. They came knocking at the door and asked me to move so they could leave. I asked why they were parking in my spot. They tried to say they didn't know it was assigned parking, so I asked them how did they know which door to knock on? They never did it again.
Load More Replies...Ford F350 is the stupidest vehicle to own in the suburbs or city. If you're not a farmer, what do you even need it for? Pure ego trip (or Freudian compensation).
And definitely should NOT be given to a 16 year old. Same with muscle cars and sports cars. The old family car will definitely keep them out of trouble.
Load More Replies...A while back, I had a neighbour with an entitled son. The houses in my street all have off-street parking for one or two cars. One day, my doorbell rang, and the son was there - "Can you move your car?". I looked at my car on my drive (which he was standing next to) and asked why. "Because I want to park there." "Wait, you want me to move my car off my drive, so you can park there?" "No, not that car, your other one!" I explained that I only had the one car, and he pointed to the car parked on the street outside their house. "So whose &%$#ing car is that?" I told him that I didn't know, and he left, shouting I was &%$#ing useless. The next day, another neighbour asked me what the shouting was about, and I told them, not noticing my neighbour was in his garden. An hour later, he marched his son round to apologise "or else he might not have a car to park!"
Also, the other car was totally legally parked anyway. We don't own the kerbside outside our houses!

I could see on my camera the neighbor would use my space when I was gone, but whatever...as long as it was gone before I got home. One night I get home from work the car was in my spot. I pull into the other neighbors spot, told her that it would only be a minute. I go an knock on the door, the light are on, I hear them laughing, I knocked 3 different times and they never answered the door. So I was like "you wanna play, I GOT YOU!" I parked my car tightly across the back of her car and as soon as I hit beep she comes running and she was like "I'll move it. I heard you knocking but I was busy." I told her I gotta walk my dogs, they've been home all day & need to go out. She said she needed to go to work, I told her NMP & if her car was were it belonged it wouldn't be her problem either...she never parked there again, doesn't talk to me either but WHO CARES!!!
How about: "Sorry - gotta take a giant dump. See ya in 45 minutes or so. I'll call you when I'm done.""

Pft, someone parked their car in my garage once (cut the lock off it). I broke into it, took the handbrake off, borrowed a trolley jack and wheeled the damn thing out onto the street (no tax or insurance), no one did a thing to me, he had no right to be in my garage and no proof it was me.

This obviously wasn’t in Texas. We get a lot of things wrong, but we are very firm on property rights. I had a feeling the son lied about being parked in the street the night of the tow. Regardless, no 16 yr old in a suburban neighborhood needs an F-350. That’s insane. Unless you’re in agriculture or need to pull a trailer, that’s too much truck for a kid. So the parents are to blame there. I pay for my driveway and no one is using it unless it’s a very special occasion like bad weather or a once-in-a-while gathering that requires additional parking. This lady did all the right things and shame on people in her updates trying to find ways to make it her fault. The only thing I wouldn’t have done was press charges on the condition that it would never happen again. $150 wasn’t worth all that. But she still didn’t do anything wrong.
I thought that too - about the f-350. What overkill.

Hey BP, you call entitled rude women "Karen" in your posts. Why don't you call entitled rude men Kyle in the titles?
What a messed up logic: your driveway is empty right now, so you’re not using it…at all!
You people are lucky that government hears you and read your emails. Police responses you in these issues. In our country, If a person die just because of someone's wrong parking. He will not be bothered. No police will show up and will suggest you to settle it on your own. And powerful will play their way, right or wrong.
My parents have had to deal with this issue for years. There is an alley that runs between my parents' property and the neighbor's property and they use it as a driveway. On occasion, we park our vehicles in our parents' yard and to get into you have to go through the alley. Well the neighbor did not like it and got a surveyor to determine who can be in the alley. The surveyor determined that it was a public alley and we could go through it if we wanted to. Meanwhile, this same neighbor will have family get togethers at his house and some of the people park in front of my parents' yard and they have never said a word.
What a great neighbor! Persistent, even though the outcomes were not 100% positive - but the overall outcome, everyone protecting their homeowners rights, was positive.
For he entire world to hear, this story should be much, much shorter.

First of all, what kind of family needs a car for every member of it? Don't those people use bikes? Or public transport? Or just, you know, walk?
It blows my mind that there are people so self-centered and entitled that they actually believe they are entitled to someone else's property! I can't even...

Calling the cops on someone for having *your* illegally parked car towed from *their* driveway must surely be the essence of entitlement.
If that truck is parked like that in my old neighborhood, it would disappear quicker than Krispy Kreme's at the police station.
I had similar experience with "illegal parking" by the neighbour's guests or simply random people parking in the office complex (where my office situated is like a complex of small office buildings)... on the far right of my office is a neighbour who had many guests with cars (I was told they sell frozen products) and so one day a guest of them park exactly in front of my office door. It parked so close to my front door that the car actually blocked our in and out access (not even a bicycle can pass through). We tried asking the complex security guards to find the owner of the car to no avail until hours later when a lady who owned the car showed up. She didn't feel apologetic at all instead kept on saying that she thought nobody is living in the building or she claimed she didn't see any activities. So I told her ok, if you put it that way then anybody can just crash your car since no one is inside the car. Her face immediately blanched.
A giant pickup truck will be the symbol of the fall of the American empire.
Even though I lived in very nice, well established trailer park I had one kooky neighbor on the whole block. He didn't bother me but he did park his second car curbside, sometimes in front of my place, sometimes across the street. People would show up at my damn house looking for him, insisting that since his car was parked out front that he was in my house. Another time when I worked at the local YMCA, people would park in the driving lanes if there was a hockey game going on. I spent an hour trying to get home from work one day. Should not be this f****n' hard people.
It amazes me how many people insist on buying those enormous trucks for areas that absolutely do not accommodate them.
3 cars or more? Per family?? Wtf? When I grew uo, family of 5, we ever only had one car
As a German, f350 is surely a rare sight...if parked here on your own property it is advised to the owner to look for the driver but you are not obliged to do so....if there was a sign that stated "private property" just take a picture and then call tow company.
Does this really happen? Do people really go to urgent care when they get a sore throat?
2 months ago I had a sore throat that got progressively worse to the point where I had to go to urgent care. They looked and said wow that's a really bad throat infection it's strep throat good you came in. If you have a throat infection like that you better get to urgent care!
