I went to the Women’s March in D.C. partly because I wanted to be a part of making substantial change, and partly because I wanted to document it for people who couldn’t be there. My name is Rachel Hartman, and i’m 19 years old. I started photographing about four years ago, focusing on portraiture in particular.

Hopefully I can learn more about photography and editing in the future and possibly make a living off of it, but for now I just try my best and have fun. I think the strongest photograph in the series is the woman holding the sign that reads, “nasty women change the world.” I love her expression and the sentiment.
