The tortie, and the hedgehog, aren’t mine! The house is, though in the Netherlands. This cat came into my life by sneaking in my back door to eat out of my cats’ bowl. If she saw me she’d get the most terrifying look and bolt away lightning-fast. She looked scared and hungry.
I started feeding her while searching the local lost pet ads to see if someone was missing this pretty babe. I tracked down her former owner! It seems when kitty’s former Mom and her partner split, he took the cats. 10 years later, he dumped those cats when he had to move and several months later, the former Mom found about it, was furious, and started searching. She found and re-homed one but the tortie was still missing.
So we connected, but her intention was to find a new home for the kitty “Spooky” because she now has 2 Maine Coon cats and they won’t tolerate Spookily. So we made a deal: I would try to charm her into my home (she’s so timid) and then I’d keep her! Fast forward 6 months and she’s slowly coming around to me. I feed her many times daily and she comes now for love, and not just for food, but it’s going to take her long to come in and be at home! The hedgehog? He/she started dropping in for chow about 11 pm every night. Spooky doesn’t mind at all!
