Someone Shames Brendan Fraser On His ‘Deteriorated’ Looks, Gets Destroyed In The Comments
Whatever happened to Brendan Fraser? An icon of the ’90s, with a string of starring roles in classics like Encino Man and The Mummy, he seems to have fallen almost completely out of the spotlight in recent times.
Of course, this is entirely his prerogative; after a successful career with well over 30 films under his belt and the hectic celebrity lifestyle that comes with it, retiring to a quiet corner of the world to enjoy the fruits of his labor is an entirely understandable move.
But that’s not what happened. Fraser hasn’t retired and has actually enjoyed quite a comeback of late, starring in TV series Titans, Condor and Trust, as well as the film The Poison Rose.
However, there have been some very real and very difficult struggles in Fraser’s personal life that have clearly affected his career. So when somebody uploaded a ‘Before-And-After’ Pic of him on Tumblr, people leaped to his defense.
To be honest, for a man of 50 Brendan looks perfectly reasonable and normal in the ‘after’ shot anyway. People age, don’t they? Someone was quick to point out that this off-the-cuff paparazzi shot is not the only photo of Brendan doing the rounds, this one is from a frank and searingly honest interview he did with GQ earlier this year.

I loved how he was compared to Keanu, especially since I had huge crushes on them both back in the day (seriously, I had Encino Man memorized!!). I still think they are quite attractive. And I’m glad to see as many people are sticking up for Brendan as have for Keanu. On the body shaming, apparently some fan or hater said something to Luke Combs fiancé about his size and she tore into them!! As someone who has heard comments my whole life, I’m glad there are so many people finally standing up against body shaming and bullying in general!!

This drives many aging men and women to literally go in debt with plastic surgeries that make them look like a cat or an alien! The surgeries have to be done over and over because they do not last. Even botox! Every three months getting botulism injected into their face! There are people who have died because of this poisoning after having the shots to make them look younger! I am 73, and I always get a kick out of people who come here and see a photo of myself taken in my late 40's and saying "WOW! IS THIS YOU?! Isn't it awful what aging does to us!" I am perfectly satisfied with my wrinkles, trust me, I deserved everyone of them, and there is something beautiful about those who aren't caught up in being forever young and beautiful. To age gracefully is a virtue. I don't know who this star is, I've never heard of him. But he looks fine to me!
I fell in love with Rick O'Connell the first time I saw The Mummy (and the gazillion times after that)! I'm so sorry Mr. Fraser has had to endure such personal trials, but I hope he knows the hours of fun that he's brought to so many people. First and foremost, he is a uman being like the rest of us. Acting is his job only he is under more scrutiny that te average worker. I see nothing wrong with second photo, and I would suggest he still looks better than most of us walking down the street, not being on show. The people who post these before and afters are KIDS. They don't realize that they, too, will age. It isn't easy! Ha! God it's not. When I was in my twenties, I was a haltingly beautiful girl. Pale and tragic and just 90s gorgeous. I modeled, and fronted a band here in the Detroit music scene. When you're that young, time stands still. It's easy to believe that your skin and your body will never change. But then it does. I'm holding up well, but I'm not what I used to be. It wouldn't even be healthy to attempt to attain that. I feel sad for women my age who try to be that. Nah, this is just life. Expect it, because it's going to happen. This slip of a thing is me at 25. That girl is gone, and a woman has taken her place. Having so many difficulties thrown at you will definitely change a person. Brendan has had a lot more dropped in his lap than most and he’s still standing... which most wouldn’t have come through it. Kudos to you Brendan, happiness isn’t always an easy path, but you’ll get there. He’s brought a lot of joy into the world: Encino Man, School Ties, Bedazzled, Blast from the Past, George of the Jungle, Gods and Monsters, Inkheart, the Mummy trilogy the list goes on and on...

I love Brendan any way I can get him. He's a star in my book. And yes, we all age. I used to have a 28 inch waste when I was younger, it's now 40" (groan) and I do eat right and exercise. First and foremost, he is a uman being like the rest of us. Acting is his job only he is under more scrutiny that te average worker. I see nothing wrong with second photo, and I would suggest he still looks better than most of us walking down the street, not being on show. Easy sulution here is if you do not like the way he looks now, don't gorp at him and let him get on with his day.
My favorite movie of his is also one of the hardest to watch: School Ties. Though his JAVAJAVAJAVAJAVAJAVA hyper-caffeinated post-coffee-eating scene in GotJ is prob my favorite scene. (And also, Passion of Darkly Noon was f'ing creepy, not scary just creepy--check it out) He's an underrated actor and person but even if he were overrated he doesn't deserve this. The people who post these before and afters are KIDS. They don't realize that they, too, will age. It isn't easy! Ha! God it's not. When I was in my twenties, I was a haltingly beautiful girl. Pale and tragic and just 90s gorgeous. I modeled, and fronted a band here in the Detroit music scene. When you're that young, time stands still. It's easy to believe that your skin and your body will never change. But then it does. I'm holding up well, but I'm not what I used to be. It wouldn't even be healthy to attempt to attain that. I feel sad for women my age who try to be that. Nah, this is just life. Expect it, because it's going to happen. This slip of a thing is me at 25. That girl is gone, and a woman has taken her place.
