After People Went Crazy Over This 26lb Chonky Cat, He Finally Gets Adopted
The internet is probably the best thing that has happened to cats since wet food was invented. Once again, it proved that our beautiful cats are amazing and deserve a loving home no matter how they look. Last month, animal shelter Morris Animal Refuge located in Philadelphia challenged the internet’s love for adorable cats by introducing a rare unit – Mr. B, a cat who weighs a hefty 26 pounds. And while it’s quite reasonable to think that this cat may struggle to find a home due to its massive size, people refused to accept it.

Instead, they bombarded the shelter with so many cat adoption requests to take the ‘jumbo-sized package of fluff and love’ home that their website crashed.

It’s hard to say if the shelter expected that sort of attention, but it was well deserved. The tweet introducing the adorable fat cat stirred waves across the internet instantly and gathered 14.5k retweets and over 50k likes. No one should underestimate people’s love for chonks!

After careful consideration, Morris Animal Refuge picked a new home for the two-year-old Internet famous boy.

However, if you thought that Mr. B’s internet fame is over, think again. The new owner knows how quickly people fell in love with the cute cat and they are not planning to keep him away from dedicated fans.

“We saw this Instagram photo four hours after it was posted (this is actually the very screenshot I took when I saw him, and we agreed instantly we loved BeeJay already). Here’s to sharing Mr. B’s story (keeping his name and still calling him BeeJay, too!) We’ve got a long way to go and plenty to share (he’s doing great, btw!)” wrote the new owners.
Here’s how people reacted to Mr. B.

Share on FacebookCongratulations to Mr. B. I wish him all the best. Also, a cat taking charge of the White House doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.
Definitely could not be worse. But also definitely would be so very much cuter.
Load More Replies...can't happen to my cat...If I mistakenly give him too much food, he barfs a hydrated pile of kibble sludge on my carpet, about a cup and a half....then I start to barf. The last time he did it, he ate some (I was still too nauseated to try to clean it up), and then moved my thongs over the pile to bury it....nasty!
Just imagine that kitty jumping on your stomach when you are asleep.
That is a lot of cat. I can just imagine him curling up on a lap and the immense purr from so much kitty.
His face looks quite like a Maine C**n. 20 pounds would be an ok weight for this solid boi!
Mr.,B is a handsome boy, however, he still looks sad, although he is big, I feel if he lost a few pounds, he might smile, also he would live longer, he deserves a long happy life !!!
Three Cheers for Mr. B!!! So very happy for you big guy! Those new owners are pretty lucky to be getting such a wonderful animal. 😻😽👏
For perspective, the lady in the photos is 7 ft tall and 500 lbs.
