Human memory is an extremely bizarre thing. It happens that sometimes we forget very important facts and moments that took place quite recently, while for whole decades we remember to the smallest detail all sorts of films or cartoons that we saw only a couple of times in our childhood.

We remember well the names of the characters of these films, their signature lines, and as soon as someone sings just a couple of notes from the musical theme of these films, we happily pick up and sing until the end of the whole day. We may even forget the name of the film, but we will never dismiss from mind our emotions when watching it.

The AskReddit community once asked the question "What's a movie you saw as a kid that only you seem to remember?" and the thread went viral instantly, with nearly 13.4K upvotes and over 20.6K comments across different generations of redditors. At least among the answers there are films from the seventies, as well as relatively recent ones that came out at the beginning of this century.

Bored Panda made a selection of the most popular, touching and nostalgic comments for you, so feel free now to scroll to the very end, and then - who knows, maybe you will take an old and dust-covered VHS player with your favorite cassette from the attic, plug in the cables and, for an hour or so, go back to that beautiful, unattainable childhood...

We loved this movie until we discovered what they did to the animals. More than 20 kittens were killed during its production, and one cat's paw was intentionally broken to make it look unsteady when walking.

I love this movie! It was one my kids watched over and over and over. We kept making copies and kept wearing them out. There is one part where the dog is trotting along a trail sing 'Here goes the dog, running and free. Here goes the dog...' and then he falls in a hole. My thirty-something son and I still use that as shorthand for when something goes differently than planned. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Childhood ruined, so many pugs died in the making of this movie, the director broke the kittens leg to get it to limp for certain scenes and all-in-all, the movie does not have "no animals were hurt in the making of this movie" at the end of the credits.

unfortunately I can no longer watch this movie knowing how it was made. You remember when the cat fell off the cliff. They literally threw a cat off a cliff to its death to get the shot. Watch Homeward Bound or Beethoven, where animals were not mistreated. The dog who played Beethoven was the same thru most of the movies. I literally cant even remember how many cats and dogs died in the filming of Milo and Otis. I was one of my favs when I was a kid but is so unethically made I just cant don't.

I really wanted to love this movie, and I think the plot/storyline is great. However, I got halfway through it and decided to do some research because some of the dangerous situations that Milo and Otis got themselves into didn't seem like they were using CGI or puppets in place of the actual animals. The movie killed and injured over a dozen orange tabby kittens and pug puppies. Milo and Otis are played by MANY different animals, because the original ones died.

I named a cat Miles after Milo. Miles was as big a jerk to my dog, Tucker, as Milo was to Otis. I mean, Otis risked his life over and over to rescue Milo, he finally catches up, and Milo introduces his wife, and wanders off to his winter shelter-- that he doesn't let Otis share. Typical cat.

So I hate ruining things for people, but I have to. At least 20 cats were killed during the making of this movie and one cat's paw was intentionally broken to make it limp for the camera. Many dogs were also murdered or maimed, but I can't find the exact number. They're are deleted scenes of a pug fighting a bear, and the pug did not make it. A kitten was thrown off a cliff as well. I loved this movie until I learned what it really was, horrific animal abuse on tape, for the sake of profit.

Those all remain allegations as no proof was ever found. The movie had been cleared by the SPCA. I don't doubt that animal cruelty was a factor though. It is well known that they used to trip horses all the time for those old westerns, the resulting damage requiring euthanasia.

I also once watched “Wild Hearts Can’t be Broken” as a kid and LOVED it. Thought about it for years afterwards but whenever I asked anyone else about “This movie about a girl who performs a stunt where she jumps on a running horse at the top of a tall tower and jumps with the horse into a pool. The name of the movie is Gay Purr-ee.
The female cat (Mewsette) was voiced by Judy Garland.
The hero make cat (Jaune-Tom) voiced by Robert Goulet.
The villain cat (Meowrice) was voiced by Paul Frees.
And one of the writers was Chuck Jones.
If you couldn't tell, I adore this movie.

People Remember Watching These 35 Movies As Kids But Nobody Else Seems To Recall Them, As Shared In This Online Group Stanley's Magic Garden (also known as A Troll in Central Park in later years).

Edit: Apparently it was Stanley's Magic Garden in the UK and A Troll in Central Park in North America.

Edit edit: there seems no rules to what name you'd get lol. I'll leave this alone now.

This movie is Don Bluth’s weakest by a lot, but “Absolutely Green” is a banger.

Oh. My. God. I knew this show existed, but it's just one blurry memory from when I was really little. I thought I made it up. Nice to know the name of it

Worth a rewatch, the music is *incredible*. And if you haven't watched it, maybe give it a shot.
