In Honor Of World Breastfeeding Week, I Took These Photos Of Beautiful Mothers

I am Tammy, a photographer based in Munich, Germany. Breastfeeding photography is very special to me. It is one of those things in life you cannot seem to find the correct words to describe what it makes you feel. I call my project “Walks of Motherhood.”
I feel transported elsewhere when I am shooting a mom breastfeeding her child. It is as though I was feeling their connection, and all that energy gets under my skin.
To commemorate this World Breastfeeding Week 2015, I gathered some of my favorite photos and made a video. I also asked the moms I photographed what breastfeeding means to them, and I wrote these quotes on the video as well. The result is something special to me and I hope the world sees the beauty in it!

I agree. Still don't understand why people have problems with moms breastfeeding their children in public. It's natural thing and they just wanna feed their babies, when they're hungry.
Zal Slowix here should abate all confusion for you. He/she is comparing breast feeding a baby to sex. And that is the problem. People are attaching sexuality to something a simple as a child breastfeeding and so it's "indecent".
sex is natural too. some things should be private. not bcuz it is 'ugly' but bcuz it is holy and private. we arent animals. we dont run naked, even thoughbit is 'natural'.

If one individual commits a crime that does not mean that it defines the morals of all humanity . There are people in the world today that sadly have intercourse with their mothers does that me you do as well Grace inrainbows . The black sheep in the flock are not the only kind of sheep in the flock .

Gorgeous!! I love that you showed all the best in breastfeeding from babies, to nursing while pregnant and extended breastfeeding. I'm in the US and people thought I was crazy for nursing my son until he self-weaned at 26 months. I wish I'd had the support and knowledge to nurse my first child, but was only met with ignorant doctors and terrible lactation consultants. It's awful how ignorant people still are in 2015.
I completly understand those are the best pictures that symbolize motherhood that i have ever witnessed . Im a muslim btw and you would be surprised at the number of verses Allah Swt speaks about motherhood and EVEN breastfeeding .

Breastfeeding and nudity are both very natural and should not be seen any other way
Loved breastfeeding my babies. It makes you slow down, stop, and just have that special time to grow and make that connection as mother and child.
It is the pinnacle of motherhood . It is pure happiness . Even thou i will never have that privellage but i grew up and still live in a society where not breastfeeding your children is a TABOO . . . .
Some of those kids look kinda old to be still breastfeeding.
I wish my dr back in 1990 had not recommended I stop breastfeeding when I became pregnant again. My baby was only 9 months old. He said it could take needed nourishment away from the developing baby. He was an idiot. I loved nursing my babies. The bond was increadable

Tammy , believe it or not I do appreciate the quotes that are written for your video , however I had to pause the video for everyone of them because the pass by to quickly .....this probably wouldn't have been to bad had the annoying arrow play button wasn't snack dab in the middle of the sentence when it was paused! Maybe u can edit the video to allow more than 2 seconds to read them? I believe these quotes play a big part of this masterpiece you made! Other than that your work is extraordinarily beautiful! Just hate to see a silly thing like this spoil it! Keep up the awesome work! I bet a collection of animals would be good also!

Ok, the pictures r great. Then i clicked play on the video and had to skip after half of a minute, the music chosen is awful! So horribly kitshy and it takes away the beauty of the pics...
My husband made the music following my strict and picky requests. He made every second according to what I was humming. I love it with all my heart. I created these photos from my heart and my husband made the music happen. Sorry for you that it does not fit your own personal music taste.

Dear Mr. Breastfeeding specialist, These are babies and toddlers, not teenagers... Some mothers think that sharing these special moments with their kids longer and continue to provide them this nurturing and full of antibodies milk is the best thing for them. I don't think this will make them perverts or spoiled kids... That's just a natural way to give love. If your not at ease with it, just go your own way without judging please. And breastfeed your own baby as you want - or not.
Happy to know some people get though puberty somewhere between 2 and 4. Diapers, then tampons.
Keep breast feeding even through puberty... no psychological damage there at all!
I agree . I know in some countries they breast feed kids till they are teenagers . Most kids are of the bottle by a year and these kids are looking older than that . I guess you can do what you want but it seems a little strange to me just saying maybe I AM WRONG. What is the average age to stop breast feeding anyone know?
Two years is not the maximum. Is the minimum recommend for the WHO and unicef.
Actually the GLOBAL average age of weaning is 4.2 years, and the World Health Organization recommends BFing until AT LEAST 2 years old.
here in Denmark (in Europe) the average is around a half year - a few mothers breastfeed up to an year.
I read somewhere that internationally it's seven, in America and Europe three.

Because the photographer is a private individual a "a photographer based in Munich, Germany." The clients she has had the opportunity to photograph and presumably the women who chose to allow her to share their breastfeeding photos were white. Don't look to take offense when there is no reason.
