We don’t know so much about the world. We often hear that humans have explored only a tiny fraction of what hides in the ocean and if you think about it, we know even less about what lies in space. So when we do know something, we want to share, especially when there is a perfect opportunity.

Like when someone like Reddit user CallofDutysVeryOwn asks a question “What Is The Most Disturbing Fact You Know?” It seems that other Reddit users like reading and finding out new things and they might sometimes stumble upon something that disturbs them as they created a huge thread that has over 17k answers. Bored Panda collected the most interesting ones for you to enjoy and not to be disturbed too much.

If you like the topic of creepy and disturbing facts, we have more articles for you to read. You can click here and it will take you to an article filled with disturbing facts from known history, and this one is even creepier with facts about people, nature, animals and history.

People In This Online Group Know Some Pretty Disturbing Facts About The World And Shared Them For Others To Learn Bacteria antibiotic resistance is on a whole other level. Even In the 13 years I’ve been in a medical microbiology lab; antibiotic resistant has really become rampant. It’s not going to stop either. The bacteria multiply and evolve so quickly that even the most effective “bombacillins” will become obsolete. we are going to reach a breaking point where even things like a simple cut or a sinus infection could become life threatening. Don’t take antibiotics like a Z-pak for a cold. It’s most likely viral and the antibiotics are just superfluous. If you are prescribed antibiotics finish them.

Everybody on the planet needs to understand this. Misuse of antibiotics has created a resistance that we now have several strains of bacteria that will KILL us, and we have no antidote. Never, ever take antibiotics unless they are prescribed. Do not request or demand them if you have a virus, because they only work with bacterial infection, not viral. Listen to your doctors. Always finish the course. Taking them when you don't need them, or stopping too early is what causes resistance in humans, to the point where most antibiotics don't work anymore. It's also allowing bacteria to develop that are resistant to all our antibiotics. This situation has the potential to make Covid look like playtime.

Or, you could be like the wee old lady in House M.D. where she never treated her syphilis, it ate away at her brain, and by the time she saw the doc, she was braindamaged but it was the part of her brain that made her feel old and miserable, so instead she now felt like an exuberant teenager randy for a man. I used to volunteer at a local charity for adults with learning difficulties. One of the new guys that joined was around 30 and on the more severe end of the scale compared to most that attended (non verbal, violent outbursts etc.) I assumed like most there, that he was born that way, until his brother gushed to me about his doctorates, how smart and academic he was, and how he had suffered brain damage in a car accident previous year.

The most notable and studied case of TBI was in 1848, the case of Phineas Gage, a railroad worker who had an iron rod driven through his skull, causing irreparable damage to his frontal lobe. He survived but his personality and behavior had changed dramatically. It is believed that the injuries to his prefrontal cortex led to a loss of inhibition, which caused Gage's behavior to become socially unacceptable. It's a fascinating case study for anyone this who is interested in neuropsychology (like I am!).

Ha ha! Hahahahaha! Yea you can! Than add two!! One more and the neurologist says you’re done for! It’s fun having to be led in stores sometimes because of bad days. Or when someone brings up something you used to write up labels for at work and you have no idea what it is or who wrote it. Oh! And the fact that you need help with organising bills to pay when you didn’t used to. Please protect your noggin! All it takes is a good bonk. I guess the plus side is now I’m more outgoing and friendly…while not know what I’m saying half the time. Like this. 🤔

A strange upside. My family was friends with another whose dad was a horrible life long violent abusive alcoholic. A stoke and a dash of altziemers later and he forgot he drank... or lost the craving to do so.. He turned into a sweet lovely very elderly man. The family who had all been estranged from him completely reconciled with him and they spent some beautiful twilight years together. It was absolutely astounding

This is true. My wife is a neurosurgical icu nurse and she has seen meek and mild accident victims wake up changed to be outgoing extroverts and in one case a rather nasty piece of work who was beaten badly became very quiet and insular. It is also the reason that people were lobotomised to make them 'more acceptable', this was still going on into the 1980's in some countries!
