We don’t know so much about the world. We often hear that humans have explored only a tiny fraction of what hides in the ocean and if you think about it, we know even less about what lies in space. So when we do know something, we want to share, especially when there is a perfect opportunity.

Like when someone like Reddit user CallofDutysVeryOwn asks a question “What Is The Most Disturbing Fact You Know?” It seems that other Reddit users like reading and finding out new things and they might sometimes stumble upon something that disturbs them as they created a huge thread that has over 17k answers. Bored Panda collected the most interesting ones for you to enjoy and not to be disturbed too much.

If you like the topic of creepy and disturbing facts, we have more articles for you to read. You can click here and it will take you to an article filled with disturbing facts from known history, and this one is even creepier with facts about people, nature, animals and history.

People In This Online Group Know Some Pretty Disturbing Facts About The World And Shared Them For Others To Learn In 2016, about 11.5 million documents leaked from a tax office in Panama (tax haven). It revealed that nearly all rich people on Earth are part of an enormous criminal conspiracy to evade taxes and hoard stolen wealth. Absolutely nothing was done about it legally. If you want to know more, look up Panama Papers.

I am watching the mythologising of a person in real time, it's insane. Daphne had a part in exposing Maltese politicians involved in the Panama Papers case, but she was NOT the journalist that 'broke the story''. What happened to her is bad enough without this level of hyperbole.

Not exactly. Something was done. The investigative journalist who exposed the scandal, Daphne Caruana Galizia, was killed in a car-bombing. So somebody did do something. Just not the thing that we were all hoping for.

There was something done. The reporter that broke the story was murdered in a car bombing. Daphne Galizia. And yes, nothing was done because we should all know by now that the rich are only interested in staying rich and getting richer. They own the big companies, they control research and development. They dominate the stock market. They control most of the world's media. Of course nothing was done.

Oh, the 1% are going to face such a day of reckoning by the 99%. It may be soon, as I see us coming to a breaking point. The 1% forget just how outnumbered they are—and that their “staff” comes from our ranks, not theirs. Who do you think the handyman, maid, and security guard (all very likely underpaid and badly treated by their wealthy employers as well) are going to join when the rest of us are disarming and climbing over the security fence.

Here is what I don’t get. Most of the super rich got there with the help of systems funded by tax payers, they continue to live benefitting by systems paid for by tax payers, yet when it comes their turn to give back to secure those systems continue to work for them, their families and everyone else, they are not interested. They seem to think their decisions to hoarse their wealth and not contribute to the systems that supported their journey won’t negatively impact them, but it does.

It's incredible how one little sentence can snowball. The other day I saw a post here on BP claiming that Daphne Caruana Galizia was the journalist who broke the Panama Papers story. I commented at the time that it's not true, but didn't think much of it. I come back here today and see several people making the same claim, presumably based off the same post from a few days back. DCG did expose some people in the Maltese establishment and connect them to the Panama Papers, but she certainly wasn't even instrumental in breaking the original story. If you don't believe me please check this fact check source --> https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/10/07/fact-check-journalist-killed-bomb-not-part-panama-papers-probe/6018595001/

That's because every single government on this planet, be it democratic or not, is either downright accomplice of, or if not, closely monitored by the people involved in the Panama Papers. If you wonder what's going wrong in this world, you don't have to look for any stupid esoteric conspiracy theory : the true criminals are right there. Most of them are from North America, Europe, Arab oil monarchies, Russia and China. Their names and faces are often publicly known, and they're not even ashamed - some of them are very famous and proud of what they do, and massively supported by a large part of public opinion for doing so. The outcome of the Panama papers' case sadly shows that their sense of impunity is far from being unfounded.

There was a pretty good movie called the Laundromat about the whole thing. Some countries have taken action on the issue. Like most money related problems, reform is slow without major effort from the major powers.

Something really interesting about these papers are that the mega rich who are located in the U.S. aren’t on here, because apparently tax laws have changed so much that they no longer have to find ways to hid their money anymore.

How it is put in this short text is overkill. Sure it has been way to quiet about this case, since a lot of rich people where named being involved in avoiding taxes by owning fake companies and some did outright fraud, but nearly all rich people on earth ? That is ridiculous. Also, though i actually think this should change, avoiding taxes can be legal, outright fraud how ever is not.

People In This Online Group Know Some Pretty Disturbing Facts About The World And Shared Them For Others To Learn Bacteria antibiotic resistance is on a whole other level. Even In the 13 years I’ve been in a medical microbiology lab; antibiotic resistant has really become rampant. It’s not going to stop either. The bacteria multiply and evolve so quickly that even the most effective “bombacillins” will become obsolete. we are going to reach a breaking point where even things like a simple cut or a sinus infection could become life threatening. Don’t take antibiotics like a Z-pak for a cold. It’s most likely viral and the antibiotics are just superfluous. If you are prescribed antibiotics finish them.

Everybody on the planet needs to understand this. Misuse of antibiotics has created a resistance that we now have several strains of bacteria that will KILL us, and we have no antidote. Never, ever take antibiotics unless they are prescribed. Do not request or demand them if you have a virus, because they only work with bacterial infection, not viral. Listen to your doctors. Always finish the course. Taking them when you don't need them, or stopping too early is what causes resistance in humans, to the point where most antibiotics don't work anymore. It's also allowing bacteria to develop that are resistant to all our antibiotics. This situation has the potential to make Covid look like playtime.
