People In This Online Group Know Some Pretty Disturbing Facts About The World And Shared Them For Others To Learn Bacteria antibiotic resistance is on a whole other level. Even In the 13 years I’ve been in a medical microbiology lab; antibiotic resistant has really become rampant. It’s not going to stop either. The bacteria multiply and evolve so quickly that even the most effective “bombacillins” will become obsolete. we are going to reach a breaking point where even things like a simple cut or a sinus infection could become life threatening. Don’t take antibiotics like a Z-pak for a cold. It’s most likely viral and the antibiotics are just superfluous. If you are prescribed antibiotics finish them.

Everybody on the planet needs to understand this. Misuse of antibiotics has created a resistance that we now have several strains of bacteria that will KILL us, and we have no antidote. Never, ever take antibiotics unless they are prescribed. Do not request or demand them if you have a virus, because they only work with bacterial infection, not viral. Listen to your doctors. Always finish the course. Taking them when you don't need them, or stopping too early is what causes resistance in humans, to the point where most antibiotics don't work anymore. It's also allowing bacteria to develop that are resistant to all our antibiotics. This situation has the potential to make Covid look like playtime.

People In This Online Group Know Some Pretty Disturbing Facts About The World And Shared Them For Others To Learn I am disturbed by the fact that the internet has given an outlet to all the idiots and attention craving people. for example, I just watched a 747 pilot debunking titk tok videos that promote dangerous behavior on planes. That's a lot of energy exertion to set things right. And this is the tip of the iceberg.

Not quite. In Europe, human mummies were powdered and used as a medical ingredient and pigment. Wikipedia has a decent rundown on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mummia

For the people confused: Victorians were obsessed with death and the macabre, but europeans have been crazy about mummies for centuries before that. The thing with Victorians and Egyptian mummies is that they got a bit confused. Mummies got their names from the Arabic word for pissasphalt, mumiya, which was used as a medicine, and betumen, which looks like pissasphalt and was used in the mummies embalming process, began to be referred.tl as mumia. So they thought that mummies were the source of this feel-good medicine and that by grinding the mummies and consuming the powder in some sort of syrup or applying directly to a wound, they would be all healthy and cured of all illnesses. And different parts of the mummies cured different diseases because... Yeah, at this point, why not? They also held lavish mummy unwrapping parties and kept mummies as curiosities.

During the 19th Century, the great stock of mummies in Egypt was used for fuel for the steam boilers of railway engines on the Cairo-Khartoum line! The ancient resins used as a coating on the mummies meant they burned extremely well.

I read that ship loads of mummies were sent to America to feed steam train engines. Because the bodies were coated in resins and cloth. The richer the person was the more resin was applied to preserve the body. A train driver was quoted saying 'pass another king these plebs aren't worth a dam'.

This comes up quite often but it's not entirely true. Lots of races have used mummies in medical preparations and the practice actually goes back to the ancient Egyptians themselves followed by the Romans. Lots of European nations used dried bones etc in medical preparations including but certainly not exclusively the Victorian British.

a lot of them were used for 'firewood'. People had mummy unwrapping parties where guest would gather around while the host unwrapped the mummy to see what was inside. After the party the mummy was tossed into the fireplace.
