This Mother’s Post About Her Ex Is Going Viral, And Here’s Why
Jessica Singleton is a mom to an adorable toddler named Pierson. While she may not be with Pierson’s father Jon anymore, Jessica is far from a single mom, and she wrote a beautiful Facebook post to thank her ex for that.
“This is my ex. This right here is more valuable than gold,” Jessica started. “This is a man who doesn’t pay a dime through the state because when my son needs new clothes, I just call him.” She went on pointing out the many ways her ex is a perfect father. Despite the parents not being together anymore, they still put their son Pierson first and make a perfect parenting team together. Jessica’s Facebook post has gone viral since, with over 248k likes, 135k shares, and 17k comments, with thousands of people admiring and praising them for their cooperation.

Share on FacebookI know it seems like we shouldn't be praising the obvious, but truth of the matter is that far too often divorsed couples let their own personal differences cloud what's important, i.e. their children's happiness. This actually sets a great example on both sides. Let's not forget that fathers are often put in an unfavourable position in these situations. Kudos to them! Also, I think it's incredibly condescending to suggest he has some sort of ulterior motive for doing this. Their relationship status and their reasons for it are nobody's business but theirs.
Wow, a lot of negativity here. They're good friends and successful co-parents. All power to them!
"this is a man who tell his son not to forget mommy's boyfriend"... Then I wonder WHAT is the boyfriend doing, actually, he doesn't seem very helpful !
Probably having sex with mommy, when her ex does everything for her and their son
Load More Replies...Very touching. Odd that she says MY son while he says OUR son but I'm sure that was just a misuse of the word MY by her.
It's great that the guy is still there for his son and that couples can still be friends after breaking up but something kinda feels off about this. Why does he pay her groceries or buy gifts for the kid and put her name on it? Why is he fixing stuff around her house and checking craigslist with her? (why does it seem like her new bf isn't doing anything?) I mean, great if they're still friends but this feels like he's still madly in love with her while she is just taking advantage of it. If he's so great, why did they break up in the first place?
He's feeding HIS child and making sure that his mother gets credit for buying their son gifts. She obviously doesn't have a lot of money, and cannot afford to pay tradesmen for fixing things. This is called "acting like a grownup". Why so eager to make this ugly, or are you just bitter that no one would ever do this for you.
Load More Replies...I agree with a fair few of these comments - if he does so much for her, clearly they're in very good standing, so 1. Why is he her ex? and 2. Why doesn't her CURRENT boyfriend do more of these things? I know, the can just be friends now, but it still brings up why they broke up in the first place.
I have to say, this couple is super lucky for their divorced situation to end up like this. I sure know a lot of stories about a child going into court every weekend to fight for their right to stay with the parent they prefer, that boy is incredibly lucky he doesn't have to do that (yes, he's young but it could still happen in a different circumstance). I kind of know why this went viral. It's because mom and dad cared so much for their little boy that they put their own problems aside to raise their son together, even if they don't get along like husband and wife anymore. Enough said, you all have our own opinions and this is mine, personally.
Sooo... Why aren't them 2 together then? It seems like a twilight version of the friend zone. I mean it's great that the guy is stepping up to be a great dad, but going with her on her craigs list dates? really? Either this is very onesidedly selfish of her part or there is just a major angle to this that I really can't look past to accept all of this as a great thing.
people cant always be together, and when they part they tend to put themselves/their new life first, and their kids from the first marriage second... the fact that he doesnt unfortunately is rare in this day and age... i'm not surprised people will always try to looks for the bad in every situation, too many trolls online. good for him and good for his son to have such a great roll model.
Because I believe it has been the norme more that people going through divorce use their kids against each other ,my ex did this to my kids and I am the mom. It is very sad but very true unfortunately for the kids.that is why it is worth mentioning when a couple behave in a way that is good for the kids .yes it should be normal but again what is normal? we all wish life was perfect !!!!
So sad there are so many critical comments posted here. People ask why they're not still married, etc. Nowhere did article say they were married. People make mistakes! This article shows there are good people out there and it may help others who are trying to co-parent. Many people forget that children should be priority. She praises him for being a great father, friend and provider. They are good friends and are raising their son responsibly! He praises her for being a great mother and person. So, why all the negative comments? If it works for them, it's none of your business, or are you jealous because you don't have a caring relationship? I enjoyed reading her post... I don't see either one taking advantage of the other! (There are many kids who do not know or receive anything from their biological dad. There are women who get abused by their ex and receive no financial of emotional support!) Congratulations to this young couple for being responsible adults.
Love Clare Spicer's comment. That was my first thought when I read this. But then, they are both appreciative of each other and it is a good thing if it motivates them to do better.
Rarely do good father's get recognition, for doing what they're supposed to do when it comes to their children. Acknowledging someone for anything possitive, is always a wonderful and thoughtful act of appreciation! The more I read comments, the more I see how much ppl choose to say something negative, when someone is doing something nice! Didn't our mother's teach us "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". I enjoyed this story and I kept wondering how other parents could do the same.
He buys groceries for her and brings it to her house, listens to her cry because she's stressed, buys presents for their son and puts her name on it, comes over to fix things at the house, rushes over so she can take a nap, puts a good word in for her boyfriend... Wait...shouldn't the new boyfriend be doing all that? Where is this new boyfriend all day? I think I get what is going on here, and I like it! Old boyfriend is smart like a fox. He knows that getting the state involved sucks for deacades. So he is playing MR.Perfect and even encouraging the new relationship because he knows that the minute that this lady gets married he will be legally off the hook for child support. Six or seven years of sucking up to her is far better than 18 years of dealing with the Friend of the Court! Well played, sir!
I think it is great that a woman acknowledges and appreciates what their child's father does for them. Not all couples are meant to be together but it doesn't mean they can't raise a child together. I just hope the state doesn't try to force him to pay child support because they like to control everything
the child is the real victim here. The child is going to be experiencing a revolving door of men f*****g its mother throughout their childhood. and their father breaking down whilst cucking to it all.
Shame on you Allie Shaw for thinking of him as a monkey and she as he organ grinder!!! These are wonderful people and parents, may God bless them and keep them the way they are as parents!
Sounds like a good man. Too bad she's too much of a selfish, stupid little whore to appreciate it. Else she's still be married to him instead of effing around being a hose monster for someone else. Worthless little witch with a 'B'.
>beta ex-bf babysits the kid while she rides some black guy's d**k How can anyone look at this situation and not see how f****d up it is?
people can be such haters- geesh people. get a life. Appreciate beauty.
I wish more people could be like that. I am so sad knowing some who stay with their partner, make even another child, just for their kid to have both parents and a brother or sister. And these people live a really fake unhappy life. So sad. One of these gave up on his love for me, just because of this b******t way of thinking. So miserable choice of life! I wish he was as intelligent as these two parents here.
Love Clare Spicer's comment. That was my first thought when I read this.
Wow. Only five posts so far, mostly from women, and all whining because a man wants to be a father? Jealous, much ladies? It's clear that you don't know what a man is supposed to be, because when you finally see one, you're miffed because he doesn't act like a jerk. Every single thing he does for his ex is aimed at raising his CHILD to be a loved, responsible adult. Most people wish they had a father like him.
that is the dr name that help me to bring my ex back dr osedebamen his email drosedebamenspellhome@gmail.com
After being in relationship with him for seven years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him witheverything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily aga

Anyone who can't get a clue, one of them probably cheated on the other. It could have been either one; he could have cheated, she broke it off and he still wants to help with the kid to redeem himself; she could have cheated, and he broke it off, but again he still cares about them, but doesn't want to be hurt by her again.
That or something 'caused a bad tick in the relationship, and they divorced but he still cares about them.
Load More Replies...The lack of child support payment bothers me. Child support helps pay for more than just clothing and gifts. It pays for a roof over ones head. Often that is the MOST expensive part of raising a kid. The fact that this guy buys groceries (some of the time) and other small things doesn't erase the lack of Child support payment which would be far more money.
Just one tiny little and unimportant question: If this arrangement is so wonderful, why didn't they stay together??
Sometimes people decide they don't love each other. It's not fair for them to stay together if they don't want to. They made the mutual decision that they did not love each other

Staying in a bad marriage "for the sake of the children" is an exercise in stupidity. Speaking as a former kid whose parents did that, it's a recipe for making everyone miserable.
