Today we’d like for you to meet the artist Mahnaz Yazdani. Mahnaz’s deep and meaningful work often portrays society's problems in surrealistic illustrations that tend to show how everyday people (just like us) suffer from things that seemingly the rest of our modern society refuses to acknowledge more often than not.

One could say we probably have gotten used to the said problems just because we are always surrounded by them, so much that we don't even notice them anymore. However, things such as war, global pandemic, and problems revolving around our mental health aren’t going anywhere any time soon.

All in all, Yazdani’s work might give you a thought or two regarding the way we live currently.

Bored Panda also reached out to the artist to find out a little bit more about her and her work.

"I am a storyteller who tells most of her stories in her comics and animations. I started my art journey as an animator and cartoonist twenty years ago. My focus was on making animation for years. Since 2015, I have been professionally drawing editorial cartoons. I had so many stories in my mind waiting to be created, but animating all of them needed lots of years, so I chose comic style to tell my stories faster."

I really like this one. Sharing ideas and love being where they all intersect. Very cute.

"Maybe the main characteristic of mine has led me to create such art: a humoristic outlook and thinking about the feelings of other people, for example, how does a kid feel under bombardment. Those help me to create a humorous story and then tell it in the shape of a comic, cartoon, or animation."

So beautifully illustrated, yet so devistately accurate and confronting. Currently we are being told to take our empty plastic bags back to our house, because the seahorses are dying.

Precarious, but I see it another way too. (Isn't art great?). (Often and as depicted here) the man's work is in one place. The woman needs to be on the move as she has just as much work at home and with the kids and in society. Her desk needs to have wheel(s)! (Yes, I'm sure it's not always the case. I'm not looking for an argument just sharing an opinion about the picture.).

De fact that people still don't know what is going on is a bit disturbing. Because it's a really big problem. Many people who see it simply don't care. It's going about the fact that a workplace for man is way more stable than a workplace for women. It's called sexism. Many people (including woman's) don't get it. It also can be unstable for man but it is something that is more common with woman's. Weird creepy comments and sometimes someone is going to far(this happens way more than people might wanna believe)

I'm not sure I agree with this as of where we are now. It's not perfect but I wouldn't say this is normal in society. So I think this is offensive to both sexes and offensive to average work space. I've seen plenty of companies where the environment is either equal or better for the female employees

Yuuuuuup. I have seen this so many times in my own workplace, and I'm sick of it. The bar for men is so low, yet they often expect praise for doing the absolute bare minimum. Then they come home and expect their wives to cook their dinner, clean up, feed the kids and get them ready for bed, and maintain everyone's schedules/set up appointments for him on top of all that. Even though they both work full time. Heck, even if she works more than he does! We call a career-focused woman "neglectful", yet call a career-focused man "ambitious".

This is so not the case anymore. Where do you guys live that women are still mistreated at work? I'd LOVE to be mistreated at work. That shits free money. My mistake, actually. I didn't realize what country the artist was from. My bad.

I personally see it as how women are expected to balance out work and home life. It's not easy. Many of the women in my family are forced to balance both while being the sole breadwinner ( we are American ) that's not to say that men never face harassment, but it's hella frequent for women.

I see it as how men might say women can't think they have it harder bc the workload is the same but they don't realize that the methods needed to do the work is much more difficult when women have obstacles that they don't

He;"And see, it isn't any harder to work at than mine, as a matter of fact," sits down types a word;" Wow, that's so cool, you're gonna love it." He goes back to his desk, smirking, and mumbling "that'll teach her".

I thought it was referencing how women seem to like more creative exercise. Like sitting on an exercise ball to maintain their core instead of sitting on a chair. The balancing desk just works a different body part.

Just about every f*****g day I'm seeing articles about The Gender Pay Gap and how women are paid at least 1/3 less than their male colleagues and then right after that I see articles complaining about how women can't find men to date and marry that are as smart, qualified, and economically advantaged as them. Women complain about men mansplaining to them, and then whine and b***h about how men won't help them at work when they need it.

What a joke. I guess that's why Men are more suicidal, work more hours, made by a woman to help women maintain their victim hood. How bout you show all the jobs only men do that a woman would never dream of doing that make society run. Boohoo, I've been sexually harassed by women at work too terrible sad double standards.

There are actually a lot of studies that say women are twice as likely to have depression. 90% of adult raped victims are female. No one should be sexually harassed at work. I'm sorry that happened to you and I hope you don't tolerate it. It is so hard to function at work when people are telling you all these things they want to do to you in passing and constantly make comments on your appearance like you are a piece of meat. There are women out there that work and work tirelessly to make ends meet because they have no one else. I have worked jobs that are for "men" and get told not to help with any heavy lifting. Women are treated as fragile things that should sit in the corner while the big boys do all the work. I hate not being able to help. I don't speak for all women, but you don't either. I don't care if this doesn't change your mind. It is the awareness that matters.

Name one real example of how women are being held back in business. Cute illustration, but complete fiction when applied to the real world.

I see that it might be harder to understand if you are not a woman. I personally have experienced a lot of men telling me that I'm not cut out for a job that does not involve physical labor because I am a woman. I have been singled out as the female and sexually harassed and been told to smile more in a field that does not involve customer service. Plenty of woman not only have to deal with this, but also taking on a majority of cleaning, cooking and child care for the family. I'm glad that in your world at least woman are being treated fairly and with respect and I hope you respect them and instead of making real issues seem small.

Google translation of her post on Instagram: For my mother and aunts ... My mother and aunts spent many years of their lives behind the carpet, from childhood to the years they experienced motherhood. The weavers built a ladder to bring themselves and their families to what they are now and will be. I'm proud of having such strong women in my life. Women who, believing in better tomorrows, bought the hardest and continue to buy ... Your hard-working hands are the most beautiful hands ....

Literally happened to a friend. Her house was older and NOT in a flood zone. Developer put in condos that caused her property to periodically flood when it rained. It was loveable until hurricane Irma came through and her house got 4 ft of water in it. No flood insurance (because again, NOT IN A FLOOD ZONE), but homeowner's insurance refused to pay because it was a flood event. Turns out the permits for the condos were illegally issued because it was pretty clear what works happen to the properties on the downward slope of the ground they built up to build the condos, bus sure couldn't find an attorney to take the case to sue the county and the contractor for the damage.
