The works of the Iranian illustrator Alireza Pakdel criticize the current patterns of behavior in society and propose a reflection on issues that are left aside by a large part of the modern-day population.

In the images below, the artist is trying to address several themes such as capitalism, consumerism, technology, and the harm caused by humans to nature and animals who have to live in pollution.

We featured the author’s work here at Bored Panda a few months ago with his comics portraying the sacrifice of health professionals in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, right now we would like to share some of his new work that takes on a different perspective and touches the morals and values of modern-day society.

This is in response to some comments I see here, not the image. I think we took a wrong turn when we started calling a lack of negative a positive, i.e. calling not suffering from racism a privilege, i.e. white privilege. It creates a divide, also oddly religious (reminds me of inherited sin). We need to help people from the effects of racism, but we don't need to invent new terms, "racism" will do.

The privilege aspect of it is less the lack of negative, but more to do with ignoring the realities of the systemic discrimination, coupled with an insistence that, for example, 'just do what the cops tell you and you won't get shot', when there is clear evidence this isn't the case. Privilege is referred to when there is blindness towards discrimination and an objection that problems exist. Ie being privileged *not* to have to worry about the same things in the same way.

I thought this was "modern" society issues, not last century's issues. Perhaps a clear distinction of class rather than colour alone would be better.

Is this still true in the majority of states in the US? I know there are a few states that have a large chunk of racists, but overall, I mean, who goes around treating black people differently in the workplace now? I'm 53, and was unaware that we were supposed to treat black people differently until recently when the young liberals told me I was supposed to. Much of the disparity is legacy, not current, isn't it?

Shouldn't it be the reverse??? BET, JET Magazine, Ebony Magazine, Black History Month, Black Movie Selection on Netflix, NAACP Awards, FUBU, ... There are so many examples of black exclusivity. If these things exists in White form, there would be huge backlash. Being white is vilified niw.

Lol @ people making up excuses for their lack of accomplishments instead of taking responsibility for their own failures.

i like the symbolism behind this. both sides are going to war for what they believe in, and it shows how neither side is "evil", just strong opinions. and however they choose to express those opinions, they chose to let innocent people stay safe.

People trying to keep mainstream and make their lives look perfect, making their lives worse instead, the sacrifices some people make are too great and pointless sometimes, this is just sad

Oh please, I was a child before the era of smartphones and many preferred books to playing with others, including myself. Even now kids are encouraged to play, or were before schools went online. Also this: FpOXy1U.jpg FpOXy1U.jpg
