Extraordinary Vacation Home In Australia Clings To Cliff For Dear Life
This seems like the perfect place to cure anyone of their fear of heights: a house that dangles on the edge of a cliff. Sounds like a death wish? Nah. Created by Modscape Concept, the aptly-named Cliff House is a five-story vacation home designed for use off the southwest coast of Victoria, accessible only through the carport on the top floor with a lift that goes to each floor.
Although it’s still a concept, it sure looks like it would be solid enough: the house is built from pre-fabricated modules that are stacked onto each other and anchored to the cliff with the help of steel pins — pretty much like how barnacles cling to the hulls of ships. Now that sounds like life!

Load More Replies...I wouldn't be able to relax in it at all - I would be scared it would fall off!
and that's why I would probably stay drunk all the time
Load More Replies...No, I like my house on solid ground. I don't know if I could sleep in that knowing the house is like a barnacle on the side of a ship.
It's not "fake", it's a concept... nobody is pretending it exists. It just looks bleak to me.. brrr.
Oh, wait lets put a house dangling off of a limestone cliff which is easily eroded next to the ocean, and let that limestone cliff be located in a seismically active region of the world.... sounds great.
The way this structure is builded in that cliff i believe it is not safe,i tell you that people because nature in unpredictable.
That doesn't look safe at all, those cliffs are meant to be really unstable..
i would rather doing it using elevated construction technology after studying the weather and geology and it will have the same feeling.
Because it's only real within the confines of a computer, it isn't really awe inspiring. Any techie could create it.
I would love to spend my holidays here.Looks peaceful place to have rest.
Age of the material and pressure exerted on bone wings matters plus air pressure, gravity but it can be achieved in circular motion riveting
Nah. The rooms look too small for such an incredible expense. Not as a house, too expensive for tourist type things. I don't see it.
Areas along the South West coast of Victoria are literally disintegrating due to erosion, so methinks, a concept is all this will ever be!
My town was destroyed by earthquakes, and cliff top houses fell off cliffs. There's no way I would enter this house.
Cool. But it's for people who don't worry about every little thing that could happen....like me!
It makes total sense to drive the pilings in horizontal to the structure to hold in place. Solid rock and support beams will hold.
That's not a home!! That's an architectural and mechanical show off to satisfy the vanity of its owner!
Only 3 shots? Its not for me, there is nothing cozy about it . All stone, no soft places to sit (from what I could see) and extremely scary.
The house may be solid, but the cliff is surely not... This concept is just to get people talking. Free publicity...
I think the widows would become salty and dirty and impossible to ever clean them so your view would be ruined.
what a view! not sure that I would trust it's stability hanging off a cliff, or having the weight of a car on top.
WONDERFUL concept- if it fell- great view and happy- enjoy what you can, when you can.
Well if it fell and I died, it would be happy with a great view! there are worse ways to go- enjoy what you can, when you can-
Yes it seems unreal, photoshop :/ nowdays they are able to make every photo/picture realistic
Ha-ha, I'd like whisky, like High Confession or traditional Jack Daniel. I'll be afraid living this

Yeap, it's photoshoping! :) take a look to the car and to the house's shadow over the cliff... photoshopiiing!!
que miedo estar en esa casa un huracan, ciclon, maremoto, etc. no me animaria a vivir ahi
S**t the bed! As beautiful as it must be, I wouldn't be able to set foot in it!
this is a simple 3d rendering, i got my home on the moon, with pool and sauna
If people actually read the article, they would realise that this is a concept. It has not been built yet...
Super rich are practical? Lol. Also, if you read that super long paragraph I it states it's a concept.
Australian Councils would never, ever, emphatically not, even consider a thought like this, let alone a finished product - sadly...
I wonder where the water/electricity would come from and where the poop goes?! O_o (in this 3D concept!)
The rock will just crumble away after years of the sea crashing up against it.
Where comes the water, electricity come from and where does the "toilet" go?! O_o
I would be less worried about it staying attached to the cliff than about the rock crumbling.
It sure looks like Photoshop (exterior) and a common Render (inside) I'm certain it would eventually fall of, due to erosion on the cliff...
I think it;ll be fabo, when can I book it for me and the hubby to enjoy a wild time?
It looks wicked, when can I book it for me an the hubby to have a great ole time there?
Sorry but the mini doesn't sit right, I mean it looks like it's been stretched. But just imagine???
Looks like a Quality Street chocolate box....with no chocolates. What an eyesore!
how would they prevent coastal erosion??? no insurance company in the world would agree to insure a home like that.
I think it depends on how solid that cliff is! Building it would be a challenge!
it's not photoshop.. is some 3d software, please don't confuse
It's a mix Ana Maria, the house had be probably done in some 3D soft and the final image had be done in photoshoppppppppp
