It's no secret that Americans do things a little differently from the rest of the world. But, as the first European colony to win independence, they've had lots of time to form the unique identity we associate with them today. So let's take a few moments to celebrate all the quirky and ridiculous little things that make the USA what it is, even if we still fail to understand them.
When the United States broke away from the rest of the European world in 1783 following the American Revolutionary War, a cultural shift began that is still developing today. Though the lands we now know as America mostly share a history of British occupation, tea and crumpets have long been replaced by coffee and donuts. America has given the world countless gifts, such as rock music, groundbreaking cinema, and New York City - in fact, it's probably the most culturally recognizable place on Earth. Still, for those of us on the outside looking in, the United States sometimes seems like a bit of a circus.

Everyone always forgets about William McKinley, who, after deflecting one bullet with a button, saved his eventual assassin'd life bu breaking up the mob of outraged men beating him to death. The other bullet entered his abdomen, and he was ruched to the hospital, where he received surgery. He seemingly made a full recovery in a week, then promptly dropped dead from internal gangrene.

People get so strung up on the “America First” ideology and believe that it’s the best country ever.
