Think of marketing as you would think about sex. Some brands try to establish a pleasant and long relationship with their clients and others use dirty tricks to manipulate anyone into the sack with them. So while some buyers are completely satisfied with their purchases, others feel ashamed and used. This time, Bored Panda has focused on packaging, bringing you the most insulting examples of designers taking advantage of the innocent.

From a deceiving box, hiding the true size of a sandwich to a clever wrap, making a lollipop appear way better than it actually is, there should be a special place in hell for everyone who contributed to these packaging ideas. Scroll down to check out why you shouldn't trust a product you see for the first time and vote for your (least) favorite entries!

It is good that in EU lying like that is forbidden. Gluten is a serious health hazard for the people who have coeliac disease or wheat allergy. Also selling something as 'organic' is regulated here.

Of course if you weren't blind, you would notice the listed organic ingredients & gluten free flour. Hence, totally honest. They just do not pay for the certification.

I have Celiac disease and I am fine with this label. (Also I am an American which is important) The GF certification is unfairly hard to get. Most of the things that I eat are free of gluten (like this) but aren’t official. I don’t need official, I need foods and food makers who know and prevent cross contamination. The official title means nothing to me. I have never gotten sick from something packaged like this, my greatest risk is always from people who don’t understand cross contamination.

What you people all seem to be missing is the fact that the company's ingredients ARE Gluten-Free and Organic. However the processing plant in which they have their product produced is NOT. THEREFORE, they can't "Certify" that their product is Gluten-Free and Organic, because trace amounts of ingredients that are not theirs may get mixed into the end-product, unintentionally by contaminated machinery, which negates it being certifiable. IF the product were produced within a certified Gluten-free, Organic production facility, it would probably be prohibitively too expensive to be distributable.

Even a tiny bit of gluten can be very dangerous for some people with celiac disease. There is a good reason it can't be certified if they use equipment that is used to process foods containing gluten.

Is it only me that actually read ALL the writing, not just what's underlined? This product is actually gluten free according to its ingredients. It contains *gluten free flour*. What they mean with what is underlined is that they are NOT gluten free CERTIFIED, but the product IS gluten free. Is it that important to be certified for this? And the other statement is written on almost every *name-it* free product, that they are made in facilities that process other foods that contain that stuff. But the products themselves do not contain it. If I were gluten intolerant, I would have no issues eating this cookie..

Ah yes but that’s because it may contain traces. Those traces can kill or leave certain people in immense pain. Thus they could trick someone into a severe reaction

It doesnt say that the product itself is not gluten or organic, only that they are not CERTIFIED organic or gluten free because they also process other foods in the plant. Its kinda like you going to Dairy Queen and they have to say that peanuts and other food allergens are on the premises even though you most likely arent going to have peanuts come into contact with your burger as they are prepared in different areas of the store.

It says that it contains gluten-free flour. If you read further it says that the facility that this product is made in is processing foods that contain wheat. My best guess is that is why they are not certified because there are chances of mixing some gluten with gluten-free flour in the foods processed there. Still doesn't really make them total liars.

It does pride itself at being organic, but it also states on the label that they are NOT CERTIFIED ORGANIC. Which if you look that up is a totally different ballgame. I can raise chickens sell the eggs and as long as I didnt feed my chickens anything other than corn and the bugs they find, technically they are organic eggs, because I didnt treat them with antibiotics. However to be CERTIFIED ORGANIC, I would have to insure that the feed I feed them is organic, that I use no pesticides anywhere on the farm, that they eat nothing that could have pesticides on it, that the eggs are washed in organic water (maybe, I dont know but probably) that the chickens come from organic chicken farm hatcheries. They check down to the seed, on veggie farms.

All this is saying is they haven't bought into the USDA's certification racket, which requires some expensive processes for producers to gain certification. I regularly buy organically grown produce from farmers who choose not to be certified because they can't afford it. It's easier with a local producer and this brownie company is asking you to trust them that what they are saying is true. It probably is.

I saw in a T.V. program that laws governing organic produce in France can be pretty lax because when a buyer beware program found avocados that were supposed to be organic with more pesticides than ordinary avocados, the government didn't even contact them to learn of their findings. Either that or the French government was sleeping at the switch.

This one is not lying. The products themselves are gluten-free and organic. However, they cannot be certified gluten-free or organic because of FDA regulations. Because they were made in a facility that may contain gluten products somewhere, they cannot say they are gluten-free certified. Certify is the keyword. Not gluten-free.

Cross contamination from one container that processed wheat not being properly cleaned out before another product goes down the same chute or into the same barrel etc is not at all uncommon and can do people in. My ex suffered from that several times and she was forced to start only buying "certified" GF products and it was a pain in the a*s. The only people who go "Bah it's no big deal" are the ones who've never suffered for it.

Or you could buy a bag of non gluten containing grain from a health food store like I did and you can find full grains of wheat (about 3 or 4 per 1/4 cup when I sifted through it). Then I looked through the clear bag and could see them clearly, then went back to the store and showed them the ones on their shelves that clearly had visible wheat they just went "Huh. *sigh* Fine, I guess we'll take these ones off the shelves" as if I was being an a*****e even though I couldn't have been nicer about it. I don't know how it exactly works where you live, but don"t forget that the product has a weight written on it, refer to that, not to the side of the box. If you paid for 200g, you will get 200g.

Sometimes I know they do it to increase the overall packaging area to have enough space to print all the information they want to print. Some do it for maintaining the size of all strips to same dimensions, so that they don't have to order different size boxes.

Look on the back, serving size & how many servings. That will tell you how many are in there before you buy.

5 is aesthetically pleasing to listen number. like 10, or 100 or many such numbers. 5 gives us direct connection as 5 fingers, 5 senses etc etc. Also 5 is pleasing to gods, 5 is the number of gears in the car, 5 is central most key on a phone dial pad.At this point I have no clue what I saying, I was pretending and I am out of 'pretends' :)

There probably were two more cookies before. It was cheaper to just fill less cookies to hide the increase in price.

No, it cost you 6. There are 9 in a full row and 6 each in the rows with gaps.

I don't see the problem? It says 8 colors, and it has 8 colors and for the amount, it looks like the same amount? Is the problem that the form is different-one looks flat and rectangular and they are, in fact, long and narrow? I'm just curious.

If the amount was a 70 piece box then there's nothing wrong with this packaging. It's a matter of shipping of course. It could be a buy 60 get 10 free boxes and it's still a shipping issue. Not all companies will change their box size for cost reasons so, they enclose what the have as a normal size they sell.

Maybe so you are forced to buy a jar of Nutella if you don't have one already. (So you could dip the extra breadsticks into Nutella because the pack doesn't provide enough)
