This Doll Master Sculpts Tiny Figures To Depict Ordinary Lives Of The Elderly In Russia (51 Pics)
Doll Master Irina Verkhgradskaya from Novosibirsk creates realistic artwork of elderly Russian people in various settings to depict the scenes of their daily routine. Some of the dolls are sad, others — optimistic, but most of them are with a smile, which means there is hope in their hearts. She also creates tiny figures that depict historical and fictional characters.
Verkhgradskaya has been sculpting miniature worlds for thirty years and has a collection of over 1600 figurines. The artist says that she likes to think that her works remind people about their parents and grandparents and motivate them to call their relatives.

It`s not a birthday, but a happy new year card. And by his surrounding, I'll say this grandpa is depicted to be in a hospital or more likely in a retirement home.

I add, that his almost un-seeable eyes are barely open, tellin me personally, that he's a very happy man, ready to fall asleep with love all around him.
I wouldn't take the "meaning" too seriously, as we all have a different one regarding posts' pictures. To me, this illustrates a very happy, old man, who loves reading stories to his grandchildren, nice NEW socks and two apples... His entire existence, seems to be everything around him that comforts him enough to fall asleep! Love this one.
