I Turn My Long-distance Cycling Adventures Into Miniature Oil Paintings

This is a project called “Cycling Guide to Lilliput” I started this year, which combines my twin passions – miniature landscape painting and long-distance cycling.

I used the sketchbooks, photographs and memories I have accumulated over the last 10 years of cycling adventures to create this series of miniature paintings. Each of these tiny paintings takes between 10-20 hours.

I used Northern Renaissance oil painting techniques and combine them with modern materials such as Plexiglas and Mylar.

These are based on a forest fire I saw while camping in Northerm Germany two summers ago. The next morning it turned out that it was a seaside restaurant that burnt to the ground (no one got hurt), and made the forest on one side of it look like it caught fire | Oil paintings on plexiglas, 2″ diameter each

Probably one of my favorite places in the world, a tiny bike path in North Truro, MA, near the campground I’ve stayed at with my family for years | Oil painting on plexiglas, 2″ diameter

You are a beautiful artist. I love everything about your style and subjects. I love the round plexiglass idea too. I have been thinking of giving my art a try again after what seems a lifetime! You have inspired me!, All the best for your future works and travels. 🌷

The tiny portals to alternate worlds! Yes! Could the author please paint more vivid and surreal landscapes too? Like one with three moons or two suns or purple grass? :)
