I Built A Miniature 1900s Photo Studio In Honor Of An Old Photographer
I spent 9 months working on the studio using hundreds meters of wood and lots of other materials like plastic, copper, paper etc. I built more than 100 miniature objects all designed and built according to that era. All the objects were made from scratch. There were lots of challenges especially when I was doing the research. I could find only few pictures from old studios all in white and black.
So I had to read about photography and a photographer at that time trying to figure out what tools, techniques, styles or colors they used in their studios. The hardest part was how to recall the spirit of such place in a small scale. After reading lots of articles, watching hundreds of photos, and doing a huge research I could build a typical studio to the old days studios in recognition of an old photographer.

WOW!! These are so incredible!! At first glance, I thought the room was actually real, but that is just SO detailed!!!
Absolutely a great work ...I was close to believe it is real ! One little thing I saw : in that time "phillips head screws" were not used - I saw a few of them at the camera, for example. I would change them into normal head screws. The rest is perfect !!
Utterly brilliant! Tears come to my eyes as I walk with my eyes through the very place my great-grandfather must have had in Colorado in 1900. Every object so authentic, so realistic. I have no photos of the interior of his gallery, but I have a few exterior, and one of the building from the rear with the skylight. Thank you, thank you! Here is his self-portrait, 1910. Frank Gonner, from Luxembourg, was trained by my great-great grandfather, who began his photographic career in 1865. They worked together off and on from 1889 to 1907. He sold Kodaks, processed photos for others, had work shown at the St. Louis World's Exposition, and owned a music store too. I am working on a photo-biography of his work. Some of it is very historical valuable for Southwest Colorado. Your work has affected me very personally, and I thank you for sharing it with the internet. Frank-Gonn...d5aaa0.jpg
