39 Mini Horses You Don’t Want Your Kids To See
882Kviews
We all know horses to be these majestical, strong, and large animals that like to gallop through meadows freely, leaving the spectator in awe of their grace. But if because of their frightening size you'd rather adore them from afar, we have found a solution to your quite a rational fear - miniature horses.
The mini horses were developed around the 1600s in Europe and were usually kept as pets by the nobility. They grow up to 97cm of height measured by the withers (the part of the neck where last mane hairs grow) and are very friendly towards humans, often filling in for assistance dogs. These minnies are not actually a breed, as a few horse breeds can be called Miniature horses because of their height - such as Falabella or the South African Miniature horse. Since these miniature ponies are too small to be ridden even by children, they can be trained for driving, agility, or just spend their days as a family pet and companion animal being as adorable and beautiful horses as they are.
Below, we have compiled a list of the most fluffy, cute horses that could melt even the most hardened heart. And no, these tiny steeds are not baby horses or foals; these are full-grown beasts.
P.S.: If you are seriously considering buying a miniature horse to keep as a pet, remember that this is still a horse that needs plenty of space for grazing and can still show natural fight or flight instincts. So as with every other kind of pet, prior knowledge of the equine needs is required.

Most of these aren't actually mini horses. They are mini ponies. A mini horse looks like a small version of a horse and while the "official" classification for a pony is 14.2 hands and under, this is a completely human concept. Ponies are pot bellied with thick necks and short heads with short legs disproportionate to their body. A horse is more streamlined and proportionate. There are many HORSES that are under 14.2 hands and are classified as ponies but have the physical structure of and therefore ARE horses despite what so-called "horse professionals" say. There aren't many actual ponies that actually reach 14.2 hands.
Forget about kids! there will be none left for them after adults see these! <3 <3
I love horses and used to ride as a young boy would love to have one just like this where do you get one these days ?? I bet they are very high cost lol
why are they so small? is it natural? or some clever people design them somehow?
They were bred for coal mining. They used them after children weren't allowed to work the mines.

Aww! I just love Mini Horses! But I own one and they are a lot of work, mine's a service horse and her name is Hallie.
Sorry to be a downer, but half of the horses in these pictures aren't healthy. Minis suffer all kinds of diseases and deformities, particularly skeletal, BECAUSE they've been continuously inbred to get that small stature. Fallabella horses are the only miniature breed less prone to those diseases, but ONLY less prone, not immune. You like teeny little horses? Well, to get 'em smaller and smaller, you end up creating sickly little animals that suffer because YOU think teeny little horses are cute. The same goes for teacup dog breeds, teacup pigs, and so on. Dwarfism is a disability. Hello? Think about that
I can't be sure but I think you are referring to the ones that aren't actually miniature horses but are actually dwarfs and have a multitude of health problems. The actual miniature horses are the ones that have the same physical appearance of a horse. Are you referring to the mutants that look like tiny ponies? And when I say pony, I do mean pony as in short, disproportionate (often deformed in their case) legs pot bellies and short heads. Also known as those with dwarf genes and often very unhealthy. Besides which, no respectable breeder will breed a miniature horse to have pony characteristics and dwarf genes which cause no end of problems, especially in their legs. They would only breed those with the appearance of horses and no heqalth problems.
Now I have to buy (not that mini) farm for all mini animals I NEED :)
too cute...
Isn't the Animal Kingdom amazing?
