50 Times People Stumbled Upon Things That Were So Mildly Infuriating, They Had To Share Pics Online (New Pics)
It only takes so much to ruin a perfectly good day. From little things like waiting for the 5-second ad skip countdown, to paying for an overpriced meal that doesn’t even taste good, to dealing with bureaucracy and the wild goose chase it leads to. These minor annoyances, first-world problems, not-that-big-a-deal issues, or whatever you want to call them, they’re all around us. They're real. They’re blood boiling. And just thinking about them is enough to drive anyone up the wall.
Apparently, some of these hassles tend to trigger the same vague feelings of frustration in virtually everyone, uniting people in their experiences. Feeling irritated and uncomfortable, people instantly turn to the internet to vent. So we at Bored Panda have put together a list of photos of the mildly infuriating things and pet peeves that prove just how annoying everyday problems can get.
While we suggest you take a deep breath before you continue scrolling through this vivid compilation of pictures, you may find comfort in knowing there’s definitely someone who shares your pain. So enjoy (or loathe?) witnessing these annoyance-inducing examples and be sure to upvote the most accurate ones, and then let us know what tips you over the edge down below in the comments.

The Fact You Have To Pay At A Hospital Of All Places
Day after day, we consistently get annoyed by the little things. From picking up after our roommates to dealing with people who don’t understand the concept of personal space, it’s easy to lose self-control over these minor yet infuriating problems that get under our skin. But why do we tend to react to these repetitive and unpredictable inconveniences in a harsh manner? Is our anger and disappointment with the world something we can resist or even control?
To gain insight on the topic from an expert, we reached out to Dr. Jesse Matthews, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist based in Chester Springs, PA. According to him, frustration is a normal part of life because things don't always go our way and won’t always happen as we want them to.
"People who tend to be frustrated more often, however, often feel this way because of unrealistic expectations. For example, they expect that it won’t take them more than 20 minutes to get to work, so when they encounter traffic, they forget they had to stop for gas or there is a slow driver in front of them, and frustration quickly sets in."
It's safe to say that everyone can relate to these situations, but by "starting out with realistic expectations and taking any of these factors into account, we could actually flip the script and get to work the majority of the time without experiencing any frustration," Dr. Matthews told Bored Panda.

But Why Tho
We also got in touch with Dr. Jenn Veilleux, a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher of emotion and self-regulation. She explained that frustration is a feeling that belongs in the anger "family," or, in other words, it's a mild form of anger that resembles irritation.
Frustration is the most common emotional label we use when referring to everyday annoyances or larger issues in life. Together with anger, these emotions happen when a person interprets a situation as unfair or unjust — that someone has been wronged, Dr. Veilleux told us.
"Many (most? all?) people feel frustration sometimes, and that's actually a good thing because we have emotions for a reason! I like to tell my therapy clients that we can only feel emotions about things we care about, so frustration is a sign that something matters. If being frustrated is a sign that a situation is unfair or unjust, that feeling can prompt actions to correct the unfairness or injustice. Anger helps people confront wrongdoing, to right a wrong."

I mean, I get why its annoying but sometimes I don't mind the recommendations. The category that annoys me is the "Watch It Again" one, I have watched it once, no need to push me to watch it again for your viewership stats
Of course, seeing everything as an injustice is definitely not healthy. "Frustration occurs when the world isn't as it 'should' be," Dr. Veilleux added. "People who feel frustrated a lot often have rigid and inflexible thinking about how the world is supposed to work." But the problem with this line of thinking is that there is no "one" or "right" way the world is or should be.
When it comes to mildly infuriating things, they don’t immediately trigger wild emotions in us. A loud noise may take us by surprise and make us twitch. But our neighbor’s blaring music played over and over again during the night really tests our patience. "Mildly infuriating things can blow up into blood boiling when they aren't dealt with and managed," Dr. Veilleux noted.

A brief scroll through this list filled with pictures that arouse a vague feeling of frustration may convince you that there’s a universal element to these situations that everyone finds infuriating. According to Dr. Matthews, there’s a sense of ubiquitousness in minor stressors we experience in our daily lives. "Traffic, slow drivers, detours, waiting in long lines, or technology not working as expected are all things we can relate to and we expect them to be unpleasant, annoying, and even unbearable."
"We can also commiserate over them with friends or even bystanders once we arrive at our destination, which further validates our idea that these are things that just happen to us and helps us to maintain our views about them being as bad as they are," Dr. Matthews said.

However, things that make our neck hair stand on end and send out brain cells into anger mode can also vary from one person to another, Dr. Veilleux mentioned. "Things that annoy me (e.g., people not using turn signals, classes or meetings running late with no apology) don't annoy other people."
"We all have our 'things' that annoy us, but they are different things," Dr. Veilleux said. "A person who cares about the rules is irritated when rules are violated. A person who cares about social justice is frustrated by bigotry and discrimination. Because we have different depictions of fairness and what is right/wrong, we also have different frustrations."

It’s important to remember that we feel these emotional responses for a reason. While usually, they lead to anger and uncomfortable feelings, they can also inspire us to act. "When frustration bubbles up into people taking action to make things happen differently or better, then frustration has done what it was designed to do. If frustration with ourselves prompts self-reflection and growth and learning, then that's also a good thing," Dr. Veilleux added. "Sometimes frustration needs to be 'harnessed.'"

But when these minor annoyances take the better of you, they must be managed. Dr. Veilleux explained that regular feelings of frustration take a toll on physical and mental health, so always acting on them isn't helpful. In these cases, she prefers to think about "letting go" rather than control.
"Frustration is particularly frustrating (meta-frustration?) when a person feels like they can do nothing to change their situation," the psychologist said. "Sometimes that is true, and then frustration just eats a person alive from the inside. Then the solution is to open a window, acknowledge that the frustration is there, but focus the mind on pleasurable things or on areas of life that you can control." And when you reframe the situation, you allow for more flexibility that can help reduce anger.

Apparently, some steps can help us get through the experience in a healthy way. Controlling and managing our emotions and training ourselves to not get annoyed by the little problems starts by looking at the bigger picture, adjusting our expectations, and being prepared. Dr. Matthews advised to zoom out and see the whole scene, not only focus on the small part that upsets you.
"If you can look outside of yourself, you can see that the person driving slowly in front of you is not doing anything to you," he added. "You are unfairly personalizing their behavior because it’s impacting your own agenda."

So to adjust your expectations, you have to be realistic. For example, the next time you get ready to leave the house, track the time or, at least, add an additional 10 or 15 minutes to your trip, and make things easier for yourself.
"I can’t emphasize being prepared enough. In fact, this can be called practical self-care, and it’s a great way to take care of yourself," Dr. Matthews told us. "We often don’t want to do these things, but it involves things like going to bed early, getting your clothes ready the night before, waking up on time, leaving the house in enough time to get where you’re going, or doing school or work projects before the last minute. A little more work now can mean much less stress later."

"Start working on changing your perspective (seeing the bigger picture), changing your expectations, and improving your self-care. A general theme is recognizing what you can and can’t control and taking action to control the things you can. Seeing a therapist might be a good idea, particularly if you find that these negative emotions are common," Dr. Matthews concluded.

Asheville is a wonderful city! Full of art and nature and quirky little bars and it is a progressive bastion in an otherwise conservative state. However it is completely dependent on tourism with 'leisure and hospitality' accounting for approx.. 15% of the jobs (not including secondary businesses like retail that get a boost from tourism). This is just some bitter, childish individual that doesn't understand their local economy.

Been In The ER Waiting Room Since 5 Pm, It's 5 Am Now With No Sign Of Being Seen Anytime Soon
Scared it's some sort of hernia or appendices. This is ridiculous. Nothing but respect and compassion for the medical personnel.
I don't know why this happens. Came in once bleeding out from a puncture wound... had to wait for ages until passed out from blood loss!
More urgent cases coming in and not enough medical staff and/or beds. It's really not personal but it's awful it happens all the time
Load More Replies...That's horrible. This might be TMI, but a few years ago I got what started as a heavy period that one night wouldn't stop. We called 911 and they took me to the hospital. Once there, the triage nurse told the paramedics to take me to the waiting room to be called in. I'll never forget how one stood by the gurney I was on, the other went up to her and quietly said that no, they needed to see me because I was basically hemorrhaging at this point. They did put me in a room and I got treated. Some tests and surgery later, found out I had uterine cancer. I'm fine now, 6 years out from treatment. I am so grateful to those paramedics.
Triage system mate, you're problem is not as serious as other peoples problema, still 12h is way to much, i belive the maximum tolerated here for a " green band " is 5 hours, after that you may " release the hounds and cry war ", in other words you may complain.
It wasn’t until I actually passed out from the pain that they saw to my scalding water burn on my face. I get that there are more urgent cases, and I wasn’t going to die, but surely some kind of button or system for ‘I’ve been here over 4 hours and I’m in a lot of pain can I at least get a few seconds with a nurse just to reassure me’?
I had what I thought was a severe, very severe, asthma attack. To the point where I couldn't even stand up, or even walk, let alone catch enough breath to even talk. My sister took me to the ER, and had to get a wheelchair to bring me in (they wouldn't come out to the car). When she rolled me in, they asked if I was injured. When she said it's an asthma attack, they complained that the wheelchairs were only for injured or disabled. We then sat there for 5 hours before they took me in. I ended up with hypoxemia, with a blood oxygen saturation of 82. Below 80 causes brain damage. They did the standard emergency room asthma treatment, which takes about an hour, and then sent me home. I ended back in the ER six hours later, where I was diagnosed with pneumonia and hospitalized for a week.
Really sorry this happened to you but please don't give out false health information. I'm a respiratory nurse and oxygen saturation of below 80 does NOT cause brain damage. It's very common for people with respiratory conditions or those who are just unwell to drop their blood oxygen levels.
Load More Replies...Last time I was in the ER, I had to scream that my husband was dying before they got their a** in gear. They were seeing people who were sipping coffee and browsing their phone who just strolled over when their name was called, meanwhile my husband had to be wheeled in from the car, screaming and puking from pain. All they did was give him a barf bag and said, "I hope you brought your patience!" F that. He ended up getting emergency surgery from severe pancreatitis. I really hate our system.
this is horrifying and proves that we have to have someone accompany us to the hospital or we will never get attended to. I popped something in my knee a week after having femur repair surgery and being sent home e next day, where I live alone. They saw me quickly enough because EMS brought me in. Even though my doc was there, he would not see me. They came and MRI'd and xrayed the break and surgery, nothing for the knee, which was excruciating. I fell getting out of bed a few days later, landing on the knee, and it popped back in whatever was wrong.
Load More Replies...Sounds like my local hospital. I will drive or get a ride to the next town over. The hour drive is worth it for the better quality of care. My local hometown hospital will send you home with major life threatening injuries. They sent me home with a broken ankle. Went to the hospital at the next town over and I needed surgery to pin my ankle
Once I went in for a scheduled appointment and the front thought I was a walk-in. By the time I made them understand I missed my appointment and had to wait 3 hours. No apologies.
Waited overnight in emergency, in agony. Given painkillers at 7am. Sent home. Brought back that evening for emergency surgery, perforated ulcer, severe blood loss, hospital for 2 weeks. This while I was waiting for cancer biopsy results. Confirmed I had stage 3 lymphoma while in hospital, the surgery delayed my chemo for several months.
I was once throwing up so much, I tore my throat from the acid. It took 6 hours of dry heaving before a PATIENT demanded the nurses tend to me. I have nothing but respect for essential workers like doctors but I was still mad it took so long. I almost died from dehydration and anemia.
Although the flip side is awesome. I went in when I got my head broken open with a pipe. Got called back immediately. So satisfying to walk past all the people with sore throats and tummy aches glaring at me for jumping ahead of them in line.
Your description of the clueless folks with the sore throats and tummy aches seems extremely satisfying.
Load More Replies...A few months ago, I went in with chest pains and my lower back was killing me. Only myself and one other girl were in the waiting room. Keep in mind I'm also Type 1 diabetic. After about an hour my chest is in serious pain and my blood sugar is getting higher. I went to the desk and was like "I don't wanna be "that guy", but my chest is REALLY hurting and my BG is really high. Long story short, come to find out, I had had a mini-heart attack the day before. When my tests came back, they were on me like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm! 3 stents put in. Yayyy waiting room games!
BTDT. Several times I was the only one waiting, figured I will be seen soon. Then the doors open and someone comes in with chest pains, they go next. Then someone comes in with a child with a cut on its head, they go next. Rinse, repeat. Finally see an MD, they give me Tylenol, send me home. Get a bill in the mail for $54 -- for 2 Tylenol.
The VA here isn’t much better but might be worse. I went to their ER and instead of confirming and treating me for what every symptom pointed to, an ectopic pregnancy with a potentially bursting fallopian tube, I was told to go home and follow up with my regular VA doc. Next morning got labs done. 1 week later the VA called me, told me get to the ER ASAP. I’d been bleeding internally for the entire week. Needed 5 bags of blood and emergency surgery when I arrived. They were amazed I was still alive. (Google people found dead in their parking lots.)
Load More Replies...This is government. Hospitals (schools, etc,) used to be funded properly. Yes it is triage but neither the staff nor the patient should have to endure this. There used to be standards for lots of things once upon a time.
ER prioritizes people who are actively dying over people with weird tummy lumps. This should have been a call to your primary care provider or a visit to urgent care. Let a professional decide if it’s an actual emergency and then if it is you’ll be treated in a timely fashion.. and if not, you’ll still get taken care of sooner than at the ER. If you can sit and wait for twelve hours, it wasn’t an emergency.
If it's an inguinal hernia, that can be fatal. If you don't have a weak stomach, look up strangulation of the intestine.
Load More Replies...ER's in America are just for those without insurance. I always go to urgent care.
No, I have insurance. Sometimes life gives you an emergency.
Load More Replies...people in hospital get received in order of gravity of injure, how much time "they have left" and how much they are suffering. I alway try to keep from moaning about pain, and usually get a very "this guy is ok, he can wait" treatment. guy next to me with a scratched need making a scene went in after 5 minutes.
Well, it's been 12 hours and you haven't died - so it can't be an emergency.
That wait is over the top!!! I heard, though a friend, that if you are brought into ER in an ambulance you get faster "service" than if you walk in. The cost involved with this trick is thru the roof but it could have some validity. Also learned that the ambulance EMT has to stay with you until you are admitted for treatment. Any one know if this is just one hospital or if this is standard practice? Hope you are doing well now.
me too waited from 17:30 till 2:30 of the night. how ended? under surgery at 2:40 for an abdominal aneurysm that was killing me. miraculously saved by a gifted surgery equipe after a sweaty 5.30 hour operation and almost three liters of blood. they gave me only x-rays and an ultrasound before a CT scan which revealed the mortal danger. but I'm alive, thanks to God and a fantabolous surgery staff.
before our local hospital was bought out, I went in with anaphylaxis, which is life threatening! The transvestite drag nurse kept telling me to hold my horses, she would get to me! talk about a surreal experience. Thank goodness I had taken 4 Benadryl before leaving the house and had a purse full and took 4 more there. I left when the symptoms had subsided enough for a clear breath. Assholes sent me a $400 bill! I argued that one by threatening to write to the hospital accreditation board. I wrote anyway. All of you should if not correctly diagnosed and treated well. nothing will change otherwise.
A lady came into the ED one afternoon when I was waiting for an x-ray and cast change. The triage nurse said next, she jumped up and went to the door, she had hurt her arm on Sunday, this was now Friday afternoon and she decided she had to see a Dr. now. The nurse took her vital, and sent her to the next part of the waiting room. There were 2 of us in line before she got there. We both went to fast track and saw our respective Dr.'s and were on our way the pushy woman was still sitting there in the second waiting room when we left.
Wrong as low staffing is the main issue that needs twice as many. The Health situation globally seems to be so undercut and inefficient in the West anyhow.
Horror stories abound. But there's a difference between unusually backed-up and neglectful. It costs nothing to soothe a waiting patient with a occasional kind word of understanding. But that's me.
Holy carp. When I went in with appendicitis the first time, I was seen in less than 2 hours. Yay Canada I guess?
In my country it currently happens because hospitals were already understaffed before the pandemic due to the horrible hours, the gruelling work and the lousy pay. Then COvid hit and staff was burnt out, disrespected, spit at by Covidiots and people had to leave the job in droves to simplyy survive. So, now, unless you are already blue or have something sticking out of your body that shouldn't be there, you wait. And wait. Because every time, someone comes in with a limp child or a gasping relative they will need to be seen before you.
My husband had to wait in the ER for 4-5 hours after he nearly severed his finger tip and was bleeding everywhere. It was during COVID and he is autistic so I couldn't go in and explain to them why he was getting so upset. The staff purposely made him wait because he was getting too upset and loud.
meanwhile someone else could be actually dying. That's why you have to wait.
Ours has a sign that says be grateful if you aren't taken back immediately because that means you have a much higher chance of survuving
