If you think you're the ultimate metalhead, you haven't met these heavy metal animals. These odd-looking animals are so edgy they make us want to headbang.

Though some cool animals are just born with naturally rocking colors and features, others have unique traits that make them even metal-er (which is officially a word). Excluding the obvious ones - black animals - goats have long been associated with Satanism due to their disobedient and stubborn nature. Another utterly strange animal, the Texas horned lizard, also known as "horny toads," has the bizarre ability to shoot streams of blood from the corners of their eyes in order to deter predators. Does it really get more metal than that?

Check out our list of hardcore unusual animals below, and add your own if you've got a pet that leans toward the dark side.

Ahh, the famous Abyssal goats. Stare into the deep empty darkness of it's face and learn the unknowable secrets of the elder gods that man has no wot of. Als plays well with kids.

I must take exception to a, comment, about the ("Texas" my great aunt Regretta's left hind leg!!!) Sonoran Desert Horny-Toad. I was born and raised in, and around, Tucson, Arizona. My first "pets" included many horny-toads. They do indeed have the ability to shoot a stream of fluid at prediters (composition, to me, unknown) it is issued from an orafice (SP?) located between and above the eyes. one learns to approach them from the SIDE !! Because of the rear surrounding cranial horns they have limited side to side movement of the head/neck. Once you have handled them for awhile, they lessen the fight or flight response. Ahh!! A (to a six year old) PET!!!!
