Pierce Brosnan And His Wife Celebrate 25th Anniversary, And Their Pics Throughout The Years Are Relationship Goals
Onscreen he has portrayed the ultimate ladies man James Bond and the dashing lover of Meryl Streep, but Pierce Brosnan’s, who was once nominated as the sexiest man alive, offscreen romance is better than any movies. The actor and his lovely wife Keely Shaye Smith just celebrated the 25th relationship anniversary, and it’s obvious the two are still smitten.
Brosnan, who has never shied away from sharing his feelings about Smith, posted an Instagram photo of the pair looking into each other’s eyes with the caption, “Thank you for love, my love of these past 25 years, onwards.” If that’s not couple goals, we don’t know what is.
The ‘Mamma Mia! Here we go again’ movie star met the former TV journalist in Cabo San Lucas in 1994. The soon-to-be Pierce Brosnan’s wife was on the job as a correspondent and met Brosnan at a party after an interview with Ted Danson fell through. Seven years later, in 2001, the two tied the knot. The big day took place in Ireland at the 785-year-old Ballintubber Abbey in County Mayo and looked like straight out of Pierce Brosnan movies.
Throughout the years the duo has managed to keep their romance alive through some innocent PDA and quality time.
“My wife and I took a short road trip up to Santa Barbara—we were going for a romantic weekend and to look at houses and drink great wine,” Brosnan told People magazine, “We didn’t listen to any music, but we just listened to the sounds of each other’s voices and sorted out the world.”
The Irish-born actor said in an interview that his favorite thing about Smith is her passion, “She has this strength that I wouldn’t be able to live without. When Keely looks at me, I go weak.”

I'm so happy he found love again. After the death of his first wife due to breast cancer in 1991, he was quite torn up. He worked the entire time she was sick, but always kept her close. When he got his role as James Bond (something he'd been offered earlier but lost because he was unable to get out of his Remington Steele contract,) the first thing he did was visit his wife's grave and said "Honey! I got it!" I think his successful relationships have more to do with his approach to marriage than anything else. Warms my heart to see him in love again.
After she passed, he raised not only the kids he had with her, but the ones from her previous marriage.

And there are lots of reason why she may have gained the weight. I used to be more towards thin until I had to start a medication regimen for my illness, and then I put on 40 pounds that no amount of dieting and exercise could get rid of. My husband still tells me, "you're a delight to my eyes".

My husband and I celebrate 25 years together next year, but have only been married for 14. I want to celebrate big, but people seem to focus so much on how long a couple has been married as if it resets the clock and the years before don't matter. Hearing them celebrate 25 years together is so validating! They're such beautiful people and clearly love and respect each other a great deal. When we're young (we started dating at 18) we say we want to grow old together, but then once you're in that stage we often forget how we romanticized it. But my husband and I nurse each other through injuries, death of parents, and it does mean finding each other beautiful and attractive when our middle thickens and skin starts to wrinkle. I am learning to treasure it, and am always grateful to have him at my side. I am glad these two have each other in a culture where long relationships are rare. She sounds like a brilliant and accomplished woman and I am glad she is being properly appreciated.
