Man Who Rescued A Gosling From Drowning 2 Years Ago, Can’t Get Rid Of Her Because She Won’t Leave Him
113Kviews
When Mike Jivanjee rescued a tiny gosling drowning in Lake Oswego in Oregon, he didn’t know he just got himself a BFF. Jivanjee named the little goose Kyle, took her home and planned to release her. However, Kyle fell madly in love with her owner, and hasn’t left his side in two years… And just when Jivanjee tries to tell her it’s over, he finds her right by his house, lovingly waiting for her saviour.
‘I’ve tried to get rid of her, you know. I’ve driven her miles away and then left her in the middle of nowhere and when I come back she’s already home before me, so there’s not a lot we can do.’
Apparently, the ten-pound Canadian goose even gets defensive and jealous around Jivanjee’s women. ‘When girls come around and she senses they’re a threat, she lets them know. She’s smart enough to know actually who the threats are and who they aren’t,’ Jivanhee said.
While the owner plays it tough and unavailable, he revealed he is just as smitten with Kyle as the goose is with him. And even if he leaves her somehwere and tells her to get lost, it’s more like a play to encourage the birdie to exercise.

So sweet of him to save the poor thing. And not everyone gets a pet goose so that's just awesome.
As a kid we would feed the geese and ducks at the nearby pond and it was my fervent dream to have a pet duck or goose. This man is living my childhood fantasy.
this gave me goosebumps ;J
Ha ha !!I see what you did there!
If only humans were this loyal
Oh man it would drive me crazy if I had a human following me everywhere I went.
Well, if it was a "Gosling" (Ryan Gosling) you'd want the human to follow you...
I see what you did there, Ehsan, and I like it.
STALKER! :o
i wish.....
It's not "love", the gosling imprinted on the guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imprinting_(psychology)
I see youve never spent time with geese.
Beautiful exaple of imprinting - remember Konrad Lorenz and his gooslings? ;)
It's called imprinting, dude. Not love.
Goose, drowning?
aww, poor ting imprinted on him.
I grew up on a farm, and we had geese, they were kind of my moms thing, and let me tell you, if they imprint on you, that's it. And geese are very protective of their people. They are better than watchdogs, I had to save my friend once when she came over. She got out of her car, and my moms 4 geese had her up against the electric fence. They also mate for life, they are very loyal.
Flyin' Gosling
If he's giving her a male name, shouldn't it at least be Ryan?
I love this!!
He found a loyal friend!!! A friend for life!!! :)
So cute<3
It's great as long as he keeps her safe. Does he go to indoor restaurants? How does that work?
Why go to the restaurant when you can eat better food for half the price at home? ^_^
True, but sometimes it's nice to take a break. We haven't been to a restaurant in months. Then...he could always have roast goose (just dark humor).
I wonder that too. She waits outside?
Are you sure it isn't a dog in a goose body?
Geese mate for life, so your not getting rid of this faithful lady!
This could make for a great book! Email us about it if you're interested... http://www.tridentmediagroup.com/agents/mark-gottlieb Trident_Lo...8296c1.jpg
Awww. He's lucky. I've always wanted a goose friend. Well I still have my silly cat
Me too!
I heard similar stories about ducks and their after rescue behaviour.
Like Mr Briney and Peeko
It's called imprinting. Normally goslings imprint on their own mother.
Being a Canada, it imprinted him as it's mum and that's why it stayed with him. They're known to do that. The theory is explained in full in the movie "Fly Away Home" based on A True Story. Anna Paquin starred in it. She was just a kid then when it was made in 1996. It's a very enjoyable family movie. Here's a link to it on You Tube.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upfy6y71iig Enjoy
And they both lived *HAPPILY EVER AFTER*!
I can't see the video it says that the uploader did not make this video available in my country (Canada).
Little ducks and geese imprint on whoever is with them when they are babies. I had a mallard duck who was like this. I hatched him from an egg. One of the best pets I ever had.
cool pet though
