When This Man Adopted 45 Shelter Dogs, He Soon Realized They Deserve Better, So He Did Something Amazing

We shouldn’t be the ones to tell that adopting a dog, not shopping for it is a rule to live by if you want to get a new pet. Not only you’re giving some sad soul a new life, but also eliminating business for puppy mills and unreasonable breeding, where canines usually end up mistreated or find their way to an animal shelter either way. Now, if adopting a dog, one dog, is a good deed enough, imagine taking in 45 of them!

A man named Mark Starmer ended up adopting 45 dog shelter inmates and a grey wolf, welcoming all of them to his home in British Columbia, Canada. Starmer provides the canines with everything they need for a healthy and joyful life. The man even built a 4-acre enclosure for the doggies to roam and run around, and they couldn’t be happier. Starmer says that even though it’s a lot of work, caring for the dog rescue operation is a labor of love.

And it seems that mister Starmer’s good deeds aren’t unnoticed as the ex-pet rescue inhabitants give all of their love and more. Now scroll down below; we are sure that you’ll be once more convinced about the pros of dog adoption.

This is fantastic. My sister's mother-in-law is also going to do this now. She already bought a huge property and as soon as the house is built she will move her "farm" there. (She currently as 37 rescue cats living on her property!) I would love to be able to do something like this myself :)

This is animal hoarding - and it's a mental illness. NO ONE can take care of that many dogs adequately by themselves, and while dogs can be pack animals, they do not like being crowded all the time. Unless he's a multizillionaire, he can't take care of their medical needs, either. He's no "hero". He needs help.

Aunt Messy, you're comparing apples and oranges. As Caitlyn McCracken has said already, these dogs have been given a wonderful, spacious home of 4 acres (a fact which is a main theme of this article). Starmer is a well reputed expert of leadership, and a teacher and author. Not only has he provided these dogs with a home, he's given them one a loving one.
