7 Years Later This Guy Just Realized He “Accidentally Scared A Girl Into Quitting School”
Imgur user rav1122 recently had a big realization. For some reason, he remembered one nice evening 7 years ago when he first met a friendly classmate on her way to the car after a night class. Except this time thinking it over again, he realized that he might have scared the girl so badly she never showed up to class again!
In his Imgur post, he shared the two versions of the story. The first one being his memory of how he perceived it originally, and the other one from the woman’s point of view. And we got to say, while it sounds all good from his side, for her, the whole situation could’ve been a living nightmare.
Scroll below for the story and take it to the comments to tell us what you think and whether you had similar revelations yourself.
This guy recently had a big realization about one situation 7 years ago, which while seemed simple back then, now looks anything but
Here’s what other readers had to say
Did you ever have a delayed realization like this?

Share on FacebookThat's a shame, but neither of them (in my opinion) are in the wrong. Just wrong place, wrong time.
Maybe she dropped out, maybe she moved away, maybe she died the next day. I mean, it could be any number of reasons and I highly doubt this person walking behind her had anything to do with her never coming to school again. And, really, if it did, that's on her.
it could easily be that she was scared on him depending on if she had anxiety if she had experienced stuff like that in the past ect ect it really depends
Load More Replies...I teach at community college- and yes, that first week is full of questions- one answer often is "this class is not for me"....it can be about the class, the other students, the schedule, the babysitter etc... IF THIS WAS Actually About her being intimidated, she should have gone to security and filed a report about him ( she knew all his info, right?)
I very rarely do this, but I'm calling shenanigans. This is a fake story. Not a chance on earth this is real. Even if something like this did happen, not a chance that even the most frightened girl would drop out once she realized they were f****n parked next to each other so the whole walk was for sure legit. If by some chance of insanity this is a real story, she was destined to fail anyway if that's all it took. I'm not buying it though. This is the most clickbait I've seen on BP, and that's saying something.
I don't really think that it's fake. If someone would spend this much time thinking through it, that would be a pathetic event. There is a small possibility that it is fake, but I don't think it is. Sorry to disagree with you, I don't want to start anything.
Load More Replies...Really Impossible for him to know if that was indeed the reason she left the course without her explicitly saying so, It could simply be his insecurities warping events long after the event took place. bearing in mind that she saw him go to his car so even if she was scared she would have worked out that he was not stalking her but simply going back to the car park like any other normal person plus if she was scared she could have simply arranged to have a friend meet her after class, booking a course is an investment that you're not going to throw away so easily.
Many mean comments here, clearly people don´t understand the fear of "what if", I had an incident at work where I was ( actually illegaly ) alone at work after closing time, the building looked empty, plus we got free wifi, so I was just gonna put my cup of tea in the kitchen and I saw 3 guys standing by the door all wearing black hoodies, couldn´t see their faces, the doors were locked, it was raining and they had their phones up, logically, they were using the wifi and hiding from the rain, I did try my best to stay calm and think that they only wanted wifi...In the middle of nowhere. However, being a woman not taller then 5´2, all alone in the middle of nowhere, 3 guys right outside the door without knowing their intentions, I freaked a bit to say the least, when they walked behind the building I RUSHED out and to my car. It isn´t because I thought anything bad about them, just the safety of "what if", maybe 1 out of 200 men are the one that would hurt you, but how do you know who?
You do not know who until you come across this person, and then it is to late, women run just in case and not because they think badly of anyone, it isn´t anything personal, but considering how many men a day a woman can cross, she probably meet quite the number of these men, and what says nothing will happen to her? In a vulnarable situation, the woman in question runs without trying to offend, because hell will break loose if she would offend him too, we already know from "Not all men", no, but we don´t want to take the risk.

Just cu he’s a big guy doesn’t mean you should think to call the cops and drop out of that school or class or whatever. I’m sorry, but he did nothing wrong and that girl was just a little bit wrong to act the way she did.
Well, people should always trust their gut in those situation. They teach in self defense classes to never ignore a nagging doubt. She did the right thing. Engaged him in conversation and then got out of there. He didn't do anything wrong.

Sorry, but if you are scared of me in a parking lot, that's your own damn fault. I'm just going about my life. I don't spend my day assuring women that I mean them no harm.
How big is this school? Dud he usually run into every single person he'd ever met later on in his college education? Cuz I certainly did not. There's a huge possibilty that she was still there and he just never saw her. As for the evening class, she may have realized that she felt uncomfortable I'm general leaving class that late, maybe she had a boyfriend but thought this guy was hot, maybe it interfered with her new work schedule, or maybe she decided she couldn't stay awake during a 4 hour lecture, or any number of possibilities. Good job on being "woke" on what it's like being a woman at night time and you're in a public place with dudes you're not sure if you can trust. But a woman receiving her higher education isn't going to let an incident that may have spooked her cause her to leave school!
This is kind of sad that this is how the world is now. Everyone has to be on their guard, everyone has to watch out for themselves because of some stupid decisions other people had made. I wish that people would have a sense of goodwill, and that people would stop making decisions like that. I know it's silly to wish that, but I want the world to be good again. Sadly, it will never happen.
unfortunately there was never a "good" of old. we are constantly evolving culturally and things that are horrible now were just daily life 20-50 years ago. we have to move forward, not look back and try to be what we were.

He could be overthinking about this, maybe the girl had freaked out unnecessarily, maybe she had other reasons to drop out, we never know. Yet, we also don't know much about the two. But I would like to let you know that several people, including me, would be cautious, especially at night and alone, because horror films and/or other reasons. But at least, neither of them got in trouble regarding this (not too sure about the girl, though). And it's up to you whether you wish to think this is true or not.
She would have known when you got in your car that you weren't following her. You were parked next to her so she would have known by then that you guys were just walking in the same direction :)
People just are too afraid nowadays. I'm a shorty girl and have always looked younger than my real age. Still when walking on more deserted streets (even during day) I saw many people being scared of me (young, older, women and even men). I even got used to it since there's nothing else I can do. And this fear doesn't have anything to do with me, since in talks with other people many similar situations showed up. I have a friend whose brother is black, and she told me that many times when he was walking behind someone, people would turn to him (sometimes crying) saying "please don't hurt me" or "please don't rob me".. -__- I mean, c'mon...
Of course we all should be cautious when walking around strangers, but some people take it waaay too far.. One thing I noticed recently (because I like to walk to my job and it's usually very early in the morning) is that some guys that pass me in the street make a point in saying "good morning", or "have a good day" or stuff like that, precisely to affirm they are safe and mean no harm. In the beginning I thought it was kinda weird (they do that sometimes from the other side of the street), but then rethinking my own experiences I understood the point

If that woman was really that scared, perhaps she was sexually assaulted whilst walking alone prior to that guy walking behind her? There must be a reason as to why she was so afraid.
