Let photographer Robert Sijka introduce you to Maine Coons - domesticated big cat breed that sure will leave you in awe. These fluffy cats are basically the closest thing to a lynx that you can share your home with, without worrying too much about your well-being.

Sijka always saw Maine Coon cats as majestic, almost mythical, not overly cute cats and now he came up with a way to share that image with the rest of us: "My passions are cats and photography, I do my best to combine these two things as good as possible," the photographer shares on his website. And he managed to combine those passions perfectly in his royal-like Maine Coon cat photo series.

He got the inspiration from a "photo of Dolce Vita and De La Loo - two of the most majestic black Maine Coon kittens photographed beautifully on a simple black background," Robert told Cat Behaviourist. And ever since that moment, he was creating these mesmerizing portraits himself.

I guess that MC #7 and Simba, look just like our Red looked. That's right, an orange tabby Maine C**n named Red. It just seemed to fit his personality.

o my.... seems my poor Drago. He lived only three years old but has been theapple of my eyes and still today, after fifteen years I can not think of him without feeling a twinge in the heart of sorrow and regret.

All I'm saying is that if this cat asked me to kill for him, I'd do it.

I have a Maine C**n that looks just like this one. His name is Ursala's Prince Kisses of Oakbear. We call him Kisses.

I Had One Like this... Sad Cause they Get so Fat...Their Life is not As Long As a Regular House cat ...and require so much attention and Care...Daily

Not fat..they're big boned and they don't come into their full size until the age of five. Mine is now 18 years old at 20 pound give and take a few ounces... So if they're given the best cat food and have no health problems to begin with, they can live longer. Mine doesn't want commercial canned cat food anymore so I just make her food from scratch with, chicken or fish and veggies and broth and she loves it. But she'll still eat the dry cat kibble. She sleeps a lot these days, but when she has to or wants to she can still streak across the apartment quite quickly.

Back in the eighties, we had a beautiful boy with similar markings and true green eyes. We named him Pistachio. Miss him still.
