Hidden Cam Records Postman’s Heartwarming Daily Routine With Misunderstood Dog

This 9-month-old dog from New Zealand is looked down upon by many of his owner Michael Collins’s neighbours as a dangerous dog – no one would approach him except one postal worker. An unidentified mailman has been recently caught on camera petting the sweet, misunderstood dog and the pooch just couldn’t look happier.

“Everyday whether or not we have mail, this mailman always stops to see my dog who is only 9 months old,” Collins writes on Facebook. “He always gets over looked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog, maybe cause he’s big, I am not sure. He doesn’t bark at them or growl (maybe the odd couple times he barks at people but which dog doesn’t.) But this guy here always makes an effort to get off his bike to give him a hug and a pat!” Do you know who this wonderful guy is? Let us know in the comments below!

that's so sweet! if it was me i would've done the same thing (as someone who had dogs over the years and approach strangers to pet their dogs...with permission of course) and i can see why some people would be hesitating to be near one as big and intimidating as that dog but i think in general all animals crave is that love and affection from human so let's be like this guy and not judge by the book! ❤

Not like that fierce dog couldn't of jumped over that fence! LOL. And he's beautiful!

We have always had large dogs and have sadly found an unusual bias against them. We even have people cross the street when they see us, our rescue dogs that have been beaten and badly neglected by humans and still chose to trust and love. Truly amazing. What they can teach us. Even more so, a black dog will also be considered more dangerous, and is far less likely to be adopted. Pounds put large dogs down more quickly and keep the little ones as they feel they can have better luck placing them. So we have always taken the largest black dogs at the rescue centre. I wish everyone were as lucky to have dogs as amazing as ours, Michael Collins I wish you all the best with your gorgeous dog. 20140920_1...84486e.jpg 20140920_101401-57a1a8084486e.jpg

Thank you for picking the ignored dogs! I never cross the road. If I'm walking my two small idiot dogs I cross no matter what as my two are super misbehaved and start upsetting the other dogs.

Lovely dog. His body language tells that he is a sweet dog. Nice guy to stop and give him a cuddle.

I think that the only way this pup at 9 months would be dangerous is by knocking someone down with his enthusiasm! (They eventually learn not to.)

It's a good thing that dog is friendly, cause that short fence would not keep him in if he wanted to get at someone. for that matter even if he is friendly, it;s still not tall enough to keep him in. one quick hop and he;d be out.

My fear is that one day he will get run over on that road. Fences are for the safety of the dog as much as others.

why don't you just go out and ask him, instead of hiding and taping him from behind your window? he must be worth a chat ;)

Can't be too dangerous of a dog with a fence that low....if he was he could be up and over it in a second. Such a sweet dog with that nice swinging tail. Who could resist.

I love big floofers - but it's hard for me to look at a g-shep and think "Big dog" when I am used to the more giant breeds like st bernards, Irish wolfhounds and Leonbergers. But yeah, I've had more people than I can count walk to the other side of the road, or get visible upset when they saw my leonberger girl and that kinda saddened me as she was just a big ol' cuddlebug. Also some took their smaller dogs in their arms and ran away! I got a bias towards small dog due to this - or rather the owners of small dogs, but luckily met the cutest little chihuahua that fixed that biased with his perfect behaviour <3

I grew up with shepherds they are lovely. Some people are just scared of dogs and the fence is low so they may be afraid the dog will get out

You've obviously got a very sweet well behaved dog. He appears a little weak in the hind end, though. Have you had him checked for hip dysplasia? I hope you don't take offense, I've owned dobermans for 30 yrs and they are also prone to it. Meds like Rimadyl can help alot.

Unfortunately, many people are ignorant about dogs. What is guy is doing is providing some much needed socialisation for this beautiful pooch.
