Meet Karina Farek - an amazing animator and illustrator, who likes deep sea fish, werewolves, anime, Billy Joel, and cold weather. She recently created a series of 'Lust vs. Love' illustrations, which was commissioned College Humor and we couldn't help sharing it with you!

The illustrations perfectly depict the passion and deep affection that a person feels when in love, while when in lust, all they feel is an intense desire for gratification. Farek compared these two feelings by illustrating them in the same situations. Keep on scrolling to take a look at her understanding of lust and love. Don't forget to vote for your favorites!

Again, why not have both? First the first bubble and then the second sounds like a perfect evening. Well, add food to it for a perfect evening.

I don't think these cartoons are necessarily about having one or the other. More how each is expressed. I think a healthy dose of both lust and love makes the perfect relationship :)

Looks like the dude's at work. Probably shouldn't be fantasizing OR looking at cat vids. ;-)

What. I mean, what. Why can a person fantasize with its partner? Love is everything, lust and all.

I ma a woman and when I fall in love with a guy I also think of sex, not just cuddles. Sex desire to me is a natural effect of being in love, and to me, it is also connected to my desire for pregnancy and having a baby. When I was a teenager, until say 24, I used to make a strict distinction between lust and love. I wanted cuddles. When you are in your thirties your biochemistry changes and I noticed I was thinking a lot about motherhood, and I wanted to get married and have children. I began to actually enjoy sex and to really love a man at around 30. So don't call it lust when a guy think of sex instead of becoming interested in kitten.

The first one means he's having sex thoughts how beautiful she looks and the second one means he's having thoughts how much he loves her

It seems that the artist believes that love is not sexual. This is a complete misunderstanding of how real relationships work. People NEED to feel desired in all aspects of a relationship and sex is a very important part of that.

I think that lust and a strong bond both comprise love. Typically, lust comes first, then turns into love. Having sex with soemone you think is hot is different than having sex with someone you love.
