A Lumberjack Cake With An Edible Axe And A Plaid Pattern Inside
You might remember Elizabeth Marek, of the Portland, Oregon-based Artisan Cake Company, from the “Visual Guide to Cake Decorating” book she published last year. Now, Marek is back with another project: the lumberjack cake!
“When hubs chopped down that Christmas tree all lumberjack like, my obsession with plaid became clear,” Marek wrote on her website. “I’m in love with lumberjacks. It makes sense. I love trees. I love beards. I love plaid. This lumberjack cake is a culmination of almost all my obsessions. If I could have worked in a mermaid I would have.”

The cake is amazing. And I also feel like I should point out, it's amazing and wonderful that Elizabeth is able to earn money in return for sharing her knowledge via Patreon. It's not "unfortunate" as you say. Yeah, might be a bummer for us who are tight on money, but I'm happy for her, being a creative self-employed woman. And there are (obviously) ways to figure out how to do this with the help of the rest of the internet. But do you have to demean her business, make a weird communism comment, and then link to some other photo guide in one breath? Sorry for my mini-rant. The cake is great and I'm glad you shared it. The last paragraph just seems harsh and unnecessary.
