Kiwi And His Goth Girlfriend Just Had 4 Babies And Internet Is In Love

This adorable love story is genuinely colorful. 19-year-old Maura T. Hennelly shared the love story of her Parakeets on Twitter, and the internet fell head over heels for the two drastically different lovebirds.

Parakeets as pets are a great choice, for those allergic to fur. With their lovable characters, they have gained many fans between the animal owners. In mid-2017 Maura noticed that Kiwi, the bright, colorful boy lovebird, was getting sad and lonely, so she got him a girlfriend, but the relationship wasn’t successful. Some time passed, and Maura got him Siouxsie – a goth girlfriend.

It was love from the first sight for these two lovebirds. Drastically differently colored birds stole the hearts of many and started following their story. Soon Maura shared the news that Siouxsie was about to lay eggs and later that they had four adorable baby parakeets. “Remember Kiwi & his goth gf?” Maura wrote on Twitter. “Well now she’s his goth wife, and they have four beautiful half goth babies.”

Take a look at the pictures of parakeets and their young family below.

Lovebirds are a kind of parrot, and not parakeerts. All parakeets have a long tail that fans out when they fly. Parrots like the lovebird have short tails, or long tails that dont fan out when in flight.

The first female may in fact have been another male. It is difficult for anyone other than an expert to tell the difference and buyers have to trust that the seller knows the gender. Often "pairs" bought in good faith turn out to be same sex couples resulting in no eggs or infertile eggs.

Awww I have two birds my first was a parakeet named Sprite because her colors looked like a sprite can and she's super small. Then we adopted our next feather baby "Tux" he looked just like the "goth" bird with blue he was a rare mix of love bird. But he passed before I could take him home which broke our hearts. Then we adopted our third feather baby Cricket a Green Cheek Conure. Seeing this story makes me happy because the Goth babies look just like my Tux did. (he looked like he was wearing a tuxedo) awww RIP my little baby. At least I got to love you for a short while.

I really miss my Red Lory his name was Twizzler. He used to be my little raptor. He would make Raaaaarrr sounds and do a little wolf whistle. One day I had his cage rolled outside for a little fresh air, and my son let him out unknown to me. I hadn't clipped his wings because well.... I didn't like doing that often. I guess he decided he would be better off on his own. I searched and searched everywhere I could and never could find my friend. My Red Raptor Twizzler. *Sniff

You'd think this is cute, but one is a black-masked lovebird and the other is a Fischer's lovebird. Their offspring will be both sterile (unable to breed) and likely have health issues and shorter life spans as well as temperament issues. Breeding two different Agapornis (the proper name for lovebirds) species together results in "mule" babies and should be discouraged. Both birds should have mates that are the same species as they are. This is poor avian breeding practice.

Cute story, but from what I can see you have cross bred two different species in the lovebird (Agapornis) genus. Kiwi is a Fischer's lovebird (Agapornis fischeri) and Siouxsie is a mauve masked lovebird (Agapornis personatus). But still a beautiful story. :-)

Beautiful birds, but as Danielle points out, these are lovebirds. Sorry to sound critical, but how could you make such a mistake and call them parakeets? Anyway you have done a beautiful job in raising them. You do know that the last egg that hatches usually dies because its' siblings that are older get fed more. I have raised many lovebirds myself and usually I have had to rescue the youngest and hand feed them.
