I Visited Almost Every ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Filming Location And Recreated Some Scenes
I recently spent a couple weeks traveling the North and South islands of New Zealand and I managed to hit almost every filming site from Lord of the Rings!
Here are some shots that I was able to re-create or that lined up with scenes from the movies very nicely.

Sometimes I can't find a building with its name written in big-a*s-bus-sized letters and some people can find the same tree and the same perspective from a movie made 17 years ago.

Where's Isengard? Good heavens, the whole city just disappeared! Probably for that bypass.
Do you remember those big trees, walking around, destroying everything? Called Ents? Well, you can see that they did a good job.

I *have* been to Glenorchy. (Don't recall Isengard, tho. Obviously I didn't smoke enough "New Zealand Green" that day.)
Presume that was a farmer's land so you couldnt get closer to recreate the shot 100%? Well found though!
Well done. I grew up on the landscape and had a hard time disassociating the land I had roamed to plonk myself into Rohan, etc.
Poor peace loving orks were forcibly relocated and their hometown demolished by evil trees. Kill the tree, save the ork!

I live in a beautiful country, ;small but both main islands have there own beauty snd you dont have to go far to see it all, just wish we had some more small birds, have some great insects though.
Kinda expected MORE locations in the post! Where's Edoras, where's Rivendell, Hobbiton etc.? The Argonath on River Anduin??
