2-Year-Old Girl Loses Her Beloved Stuffed Dog At The Hotel, Staff Documents His Adventures Before Shipping Him Back Home
Children have the ability to form strong attachments to cuddly toys, blankets, and other comfort items. These precious things are a big part of kids’ life and they simply can’t live without them. All parents know how devastating it is for their children to lose their beloved toys. Yet sometimes accidents happen and their playthings get left behind at airports, stores, and other places. That’s exactly what happened to a little girl named Juniper who lost her beloved stuffed dog named Ruff Ruff at a hotel. However, the girl wasn’t sad for long, as the toy quickly found its way back to her in the most wholesome way.

Earlier this month, Juniper’s mom, Allison, posted the story about her 2-year-old daughter losing and getting reunited with Ruff Ruff. The toy was accidentally left behind at a hotel during a soccer tournament. “We knew we left it at the hotel since we were in a hurry to leave that morning,” Allison told Bored Panda. According to her mom, Juniper was left in tears when she realized her favorite toy was no longer with her, so she decided to call the staff and ask if they had seen him. “They said they would check with housekeeping right away and let us know if anyone spotted him,” the mother said.

To Allison’s surprise, a few days later, the toy was delivered back to Juniper, but that wasn’t all. The employees of the hotel made sure that Ruff Ruff would have a good time while he was away from Juniper, so they took photographs of all the things he did during his stay at the hotel.
Here’s how Ruff Ruff spend his time at the hotel

Juniper was ecstatic when the kind-hearted staff of the hotel returned her favorite toy

Alisson said that they “were thrilled” when Ruff Ruff was returned to them, however, the little girl was particularly moved to see her buddy back. “Juniper was shocked to find him in a box. We absolutely loved the photos!!”

“So thankful for the staff and Double Tree and their efforts to go above and beyond the call of duty to return Juniper’s best friend. We plan on going back down to Richmond and meeting all the staff who were involved as soon as it is safe to travel again,” Juniper’s mom said.

Sweet story. Glad Juniper got Ruff-Ruff back. BTW, those pictures are good enough the hotel could use them in an ad campaign.
I can understand this. My then 5 year old autistic son used to have a red dragon named Mushu. He took him everywhere. Halfway home, we realized Mushu had been left at the hotel in the folds of the sheets. My son bawled all the way home. "I'm so sorry Mushu!! I didn't mean to leave you behind!!!" We contacted the hotel..the staff found him..thought he looked a little grimy..washed him up and kept him at the counter. My sister picked him up the next day and kept him for the rest of the week until she came the next weekend to deliver him home. My son was so elated to have him. He hugged him as he strolled to his room saying "I'm so sorry Mushu! I promise to never leave you again! I missed you!!" Mushu didn't seem to mind.
Teddy! You're back! You are a doggie now, tell me your story, what hapenned???
This is the kind of stuff that I want to see on BP. Simple kind gestures like this turn my day around. It gives me hope.
Apparently Bored Panda staff cannot tell a toy dog from a teddy bear 👍 I know it's a boring job but at least feign interest.
It says stuffed dog. Maybe your comment is responsible for the edit.
Load More Replies...This is old school customer service at it's finest! I would certainly make that my go-to accommodations for the area going forward.
That is so cute. I had a stuffed animal that I would take everywhere (I still have him shh) It got left at the doctor's office. I got him back thankfully. I would have been so happy if I saw that he was on the phone and working on the computer! That is such a cute story
Best story! Best smile! I'm so glad there was a happy ending and that the hotel staff got to make a little magic too!
Yeah, and the dog could have friends and go on an adventure... we'll call it Toy's Story... oh wait! ;)
Load More Replies...Awww, so glad she got her beloved plushie back. I know I would have been devastated if I'd lost mine (I have a beloved plushie dog too). Good on the staff for sending him back to her so quickly, with pictures even! You can tell from the slightly matted plush that Ruff Ruff is very well loved. The look on her face in those pictures is adorable.
Hahahahaha i do this all the time for any of my friends that leave things behind at my house. It's just so much fun! Glad to see the others do it too
10 out of 10- not only made her day, but mine too. Thanks for posting. Sent from an Aussie Sheila
Adorable. He had a good day. Well deserved for being a loyal companion.
If the hotel staff did that, why are all the pictures attributed to mom?
That stuffy had way too much fun. Good for the staff. Also, since no one is traveling at the moment, Doubletree has released the recipe for their chocolate chip cookies so we can make them at home: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/11/us/doubletree-cookie-recipe-trnd/index.html
This is better (and free) PR for Doubletree than recent ad. Hit me in the feel goods!
If I get to Richmond, I know where to stay now! Gold Stars to the staff!
