Woman Posts About Missing Dog On Facebook And Finds Another Woman Trying To Sell It

Every 4th of July news outlets everywhere release pieces on how to keep your dogs safe during the firework-filled holiday. In some cases, regardless of how their owners prepare some dogs still run off, frightened by the noise, however for one couple their dog was gone even before celebrations began.

This year a woman posted to Facebook that in the hustle and bustle of celebratory preparations for Independence Day, her boyfriend’s Husky Sansa had escaped from the yard. She wrote a description of the missing dog, in the hopes that someone had seen her – turns out someone had spotted the gorgeous canine, just the wrong person. A woman had seen the lost dog as an opportunity to make a profit and put a for-sale ad up on the internet.

The post, now deleted, caught the attention of the internet who jumped to try and bring the crook to justice.

This 4th of July a woman posted on Facebook that her boyfriend’s dog had gone missing – in the hopes, someone had seen her

And as it turns out, someone had found the Husky – but instead of looking for the owner had put it up for sale. People recognized the animal immediately

Later in the day, the status of the dog had switched to sold

But she hadn’t been sold. The owners found her, thanks to a neighbor boy, and retrieved the Husky

People in the comments were shocked by the story

If you have this problem of wandering pets, or they travel with you, then get your dog or cat chipped! Most vets can do this and it costs very little. You register the microchip ID online and ownership details become available on the Internet. Then there can be NO dispute about who’s pet it is. The next time the animal is brought to a vet, the vet will perform a scan to pull up the details. See petlink.com and save yourself a lot of potential grief. Even if there is a bad guy in the middle, the new “owner” will soon discover what happened when the information on the web shows that the pet was stolen.

Even if you don't have a problem with wandering pets, do it just in case!

Pretty much sure she/he is the one who kidnap any lost dogs and then sell it online. That's why don't buy dogs/cats, if possible adopt your pets at official shelter.

It would be interesting to check and see if this woman has previously sold any animals that needed "rehoming."

My guess is they know they are doing something wrong so they use religion to make it sound ok. Ironically I don't think it works for anyone who isn't similarly as bad a person. At least I hope that's the case.

I agree with you, but does it not cost to adopt a dog there? We're looking at dog shelters for our furry friend at the moment, and prices to adopt range from $95 to $700. That's in Australia.

Enough of her friends and neighbors know who she is, and will be on the lookout for any future animals she tries to sell. Hopefully someone turns her information in to the authorities so they can keep an eye on any past and future sales.

Why would she think she could even get $200? Huskies are prevalent in shelters. Plus, no vaccination history, no indication he is neutered or Heartworm negative. All $$$ to be spent. I just brought home another dog 4 days ago. Animal control found him tied to a tree and treading water. Had to be shaved bc his coat was matted with dirt and motor oil. Heartworm positive. Not neutered. Next on euthanasia list. Made an appt the same day I rescued him for HW treatment, vaccinations, neuter, microchip. It will take months to get my little guy back to health. There are many people who treat their dogs like trash. It is a living being with feelings. I named my pup Finn. For his c**p start in life and bad treatment by humans, all he wants to do is get pets and give kisses. Total sweetheart of a doggo.

Pet theft is a thing in my area, one of our pets was stolen, my neighbour got the whole incident on her outdoor security camera. My neighbour across the street's camera faces the front of her house and records my driveway, a woman in a winter coat in the middle of summer, walked up my driveway to the gate, lifted the dog over the gate, shoved it under her coat and strolled back down my driveway. Wearing the winter coat during a heat wave lead me to believe she planned it, the police agreed with me, it took us 3 days to get her back and when we did she was so sick, she was close to death, cost us $1,000 at the vets to save her and worth every penny!
