There are many species of guinea pigs, but Abyssinian, Peruvian, Coronet and Silkie guinea pigs are unique in their impressive, floor-length fur. These little creatures are beautiful to look at, but require a lot of care because of their unusual locks.

OMG it's a silver Agouti :D I love Agoutis! All of my pigs but one have been Agoutis and they are SO SOFT (even if they look wiry).
With the close up, it kinda looks like a Guinea pig head with a lotta fur.

#3 looks like a certain person's toupee fell on him....but it looks much better on her. So much work and love to keep them so well groomed and mat free

I had guinea pigs as a child. They kept breeding and EATING their babies. They are forever mini-demons to me now.
One correction - Abyssinians are short coated, with between 8-12 whorls (rosettes) in the coat. Longhairs are silkies, silkie satins, peruvian, pervuian satin, coronet, texel and in other countries, alpaca, boucle, satin coronets, satin texels are also recognized. The short haired cavies are abysinnians, aby satins, americans, american satin, white crested, teddy and teddy satins. :-)
