Disney’s Tangled In Real Life: Woman Shows What Happens When You Don’t Cut Your Hair For 23 Years
Have you ever dreamed of having luscious, long locks of hair like in fairytales? Well, meet a real-life Rapunzel – Angelica Baranova from Pokosnoye village, Russia. No extensions or anything – she just simply hasn’t cut her hair short since she was five years old!
The now-28-year-old has her hair almost sweeping the floor and, obviously, gets tons of attention for it. People used to come up to her on the street, ask tons of questions and even try to touch her beautiful locks, which is why she usually wears scarves now and hides her hair when going out.
It all started when she was still a child and her parents wouldn’t let Angelica cut her hair as they believed she had a great chance to let it grow, since she had always had it so thick and healthy. Angelica has even won a competition called “Russian braid” and received the main prize which was an apartment in Moscow! Ever since that encouragement, she has just let it grow more and more.
When asked how she takes care of such a spectacular hairdo, Angelica didn’t think it was anything out of the ordinary. She simply washes it twice a week, adds a little coconut or burdock oil for a few minutes, rinses it off, and then just leaves it to air dry.
Check out these pictures Angelica has shared! #HairGoals or #NoThanks?

Girl, woman, and female are what I am. Those words are not offensive. Now you call me mean or derogatory names and I'd agree with it being malicious. But calling me what I am is not bad especially when it's describing me.
Load More Replies...Somehow I lived a long time without knowing that human hair has a length it grows to before it just stops, just like animal fur or body hair. It just happens that it is so long most people never get to their maximum. it's also widely variable from person to person. The record for the longest beard has stood for 100 years because no one else has been able to grow theirs as long, not for lack of trying.
The length your hair grows seems to really vary. Some people can’t grow their hair below their shoulders.
Load More Replies...Sadly, your ultimate hair length is largely decided by genetics. Assuming you are healthy, your hair will just grow to a certain point and then will fall out and be replaced, causing your hair to have a finite length. Mine always stopped right around my waist. Now I'm older, it will get to the middle of my back. My daughter's so far has grown to her butt. We're not sure how much longer it will grow because she's never tried to have it really long before.
I wonder how long my hair would've been if I didn't get lice. My hair was down to my knees when I was 7 but I got really horrible lice and had to chop it all off. Then realised I'm actually a dude and kept it really short. My hair still grows super quick to this day.
You should try growing it really long again, even if you are a dude! I’m sure you’ll look cool!
Load More Replies...I've always loved women with long hair. It probably goes back to my grade school days (Catholic, BTW). There was a girl, Jane, who had a mane of beautiful, long red wavy hair down to her butt. At the time (ah, youth), I thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world. I had auburn hair myself, and I grew it down to my shoulders, and I can attest to the fact that it can be fairly high maintenance. Shave it bald now.
I’m trying to grow mine again to the length I had it in my 20s (long enough to sit on) but I’m starting to think my old bod (mid 40s) may just not have the strength to get it there anymore! I’ll just have to settle for mid back and leave it at that :) At least I can still dye it weird colours 🌈
until my senior year in high school, my hair was down to my knees. and, yes, it was a bit of a hassle. then, one day i walked into a salon and turned it into a short curly cut. tried to let it grow out when i was pregnant but after the first time my son grabbed and pulled - back to short and haven't looked back.
She's had hair cuts, because doesn't naturally all grow at the same rate. It's straight on the ends. But I'm am green with envy. Mine is terrible and breaks off just to spite me.
As nice as this hair looks on first glance... the complete part below her hips is thinning out and looks unhealthy. Seems like they put a not of braids and conditioner in it to make it look nice, but you can't really hide it if hair gets that much thinner towards the ends. I really don't understand women who insist on letting their hair grow longer if the ends are already breaking or unhealthy. I have very long hair myself - and as soon as I discover broken/split/thinning ends, chop chop. It regrows.
WOW that’s really pretty hair, I would love to have hair that long. If Disney ever needed a rapunzel actress, they should cast her!
That's what makes me concerned. Dinners can be real gross nightmares, one strand is enough.

ok....My hair hasnt been cut for longer than 23 years and is only past my butt. Not everyone that doesn't cut their hair gets hair to their feet. This chick has had her split ends cut cuz its all even at the bottom.
When our daughter was little I would cut about 20cm (8inches) off her hair every year and her hair was still about hip length. I did this for around 7-8 years.
My hair grows faster and I wear it long. However at the point it reaches past your waist it starts getting stuck in car doors, gets tucked in shirts accidentally or worse yet, gets into the toilet. My hair is curly so I guess it's easier to keep it controlled when it's straight. I never won an apartment because of my hair. I wish there was more detail about how that happened.
I had to go look at the pictures again. She is very pretty, but on first view all I saw was hair.
Spoiler alert-You have long hair. It's quite an accomplishment to...not cut it...weird flex but pretty common.
