‘He Was So Terrified When We Brought Him Home 2 Days Ago:’ Man ‘Rescues’ An Abandoned Skeleton Decoration
Stray cats and dogs aren’t the only ones who need love and care. Some skeletons are searching for new parents, too. Luckily, Halloween is just around the corner. During this time of year, people usually remember these forgotten souls, inviting them into their hearts and homes. Late Night TV writer Jesse McLaren did just that. Jesse surprised his 1.2 million Twitter followers with an adoption announcement — the man took in a “terrified” skeleton. The best part? Jesse documented it becoming a family member.

Interestingly, the animated human skeleton has been used as a symbol of death in Western culture since the Middle Ages, a personification that may have been influenced by the valley of the dry bones in the Book of Ezekiel.
The Grim Reaper, for example, is often depicted as a hooded skeleton holding a scythe (and sometimes an hourglass), which has been attributed to German painter and printmaker Hans Holbein the Younger (1538). Death as one of the biblical horsemen of the Apocalypse has been depicted as a skeleton riding a horse. The Triumph of Death is a 1562 painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, sowing an army of skeletons raiding a town and slaughtering its residents.
Earlier, Jesse explained that he got it for his sick girlfriend

This is heartwarming but I can't understand people getting a skeleton and then just cruelly abandoning it. At least have the decency to take it to a shelter. A no kill one of course.
I loved this post I to have a skeleton who lives with us he is very happy and sleeps with the cat at night in our guest room and I have legally adopted him so this story made me all warm and cuddly
Warm and cuddly, ironically unlike the skeleton! You're doing good work though - thank you for making him happy.
Load More Replies...Trouble is they can burst out when you least want them to! Poor skeletons.
Load More Replies...*whispers* we all have at least one skeleton. Living hidden inside us :P
Load More Replies...My daughter has a guy like this seatbelted in the back seat of her car
Seeing this post made me realize that I need to take better care of my poor skeleton. Right now he's hanging from the ceiling.
Why did people downvote that? It is a perfectly acceptable response. Here's an upvote to counterattack that
Load More Replies...I just can't understand people who are afraid of, or even hate skeletons because they've just heard stories about poorly trained ones attacking children. I'm a skeleton mama myself and I can tell you right now, he's like a part of me nowadays.
