Francie Francisca Lubbe and her partner woke up to see 3 thirsty lionesses licking the drops of water off their tent in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Botswana. While most of us would have freaked out, the brave woman said that she felt privileged to have such visitors. She simply stayed quiet and didn’t disturb the lionesses.

“Too often people panic and behave badly when lions approach in the wild,” big cat conservationists Dereck and Beverly Joubert wrote on Facebook. “I appreciate what these travelers did and how they responded, with calm and appreciation. Well done. The lions were licking dew or moisture off the tent apparently and not a threat in any way so the reaction is absolutely appropriate and their appreciation of the absolute privilege is fantastic.”
