Bullies Told This Actress She Can’t Feel Insecure Because ‘She’s Skinny’, So She Delivers A Perfect Clapback
Insecurities can affect anyone, even those who seemingly have it all. Just ask Lili Reinhart, star of hit TV series Riverdale. Reinhart is an outspoken campaigner for mental health issues, having suffered from anxiety and depression herself, as well as being a champion for body positivity.
“I’m not that flawless image person, she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “I could never live up to that. I’m not going to make people think I’m this airbrushed version of myself. There are lots of versions of me. My hair looks like shit most of the time. It looks great when I’m on a carpet, sure, but that’s not the only side I want people to see of myself.”
Her candid admissions about how low self esteem and insecurities have garnered some critics however, those who look at her Hollywood figure and believe she has no right to be insecure. “Betty does know that she wouldn’t have a job or be in magazines if her body wasn’t socially accepted, right?” said one commentor, referencing Reinhart’s character on the show. “But no. She’d rather try to tell MY fat ass what body shaming is & that her body “isn’t like” Gigi Hadid’s even tho it is.”
This prompted Reinhart to raise some important points of body dysmorphia and insecurities.Who has the right to decide how others should feel? Scroll down below to see how it all unfolded below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
This is Lili Reinhart
She is known for playing Betty on popular tv show ‘Riverdale’
Recently she featured in Harper’s Bazaar channelling Old Hollywood icons
She also spoke about body standards
After that, one Twitter user suggested that she shouldn’t be able to talk about body positivity at all
So Lili decided to speak up
People responded strongly

Load More Replies...I'm tiried of all these body-shaming or stop-body-shaming articles... We go over and over and over again with this and same arguments raise, smae opinions... Aren't there any interesting FRESH topics out there? :/
Anyone (no matter what they look like or what size they wear) can feel insecure about themselves, about their body, about their looks...Seems like for some people that's hard (or even impossible) to accept.
body shaming can be so subtle - amongst people in person
Load More Replies...I had more body issues when I was skinny and depressed than I do now that I gained a little bit of weight. Being skinny is not a given that you will feel confident.
I am too skinny (health issues) - being called a skeleton is as bad as being called a whale
Load More Replies...I couldn't even get through this article. MARLYN MONROE HAD A 22inch WAIST! Please, PLEASE stop making her the plus size icon of history. She was beautiful, but she is not the standard we should hold curvy woman to.
she had a 28" waist - squeezed to 22 by corsetry when needed - and she was beautiful
Load More Replies...Actually, Marilyn Monroe had a very small waist size: http://mentalfloss.com/article/66536/what-dress-size-was-marilyn-monroe-actually "But according to today's sizing guides—which is what people generally have in mind as a reference when discussing her measurements—Marilyn would be roughly a U.S. size 6 or 8. She'd likely need an 8 for her bust, but with forgiving fabric, a 4 or a 6 would easily fit her hips. And of course, her tiny waist would certainly need a belt."
We Women are all beautiful in all shapes, sizes and colors. Let us empower each and everyone. Stop shaming we are all sisters in different races. Let us make a world a better and full of love place.
i think the problem lays on how important it is for women to be beautiful.

She obviously feels that people with her 'FAT a*s' aren't represented in the media enough, and what do we do? Judge her, call her a bully/insecure/cowardly and tell her not to shut up and not to be judgemental. Bravo internet, way to help someone in trouble.
Cry me a river the vast majority of bullys have issues, just like every other person on the planet, what makes them different is the need to take their issues out on other people. If she felt that she is not represented in the media then make that point without attacking someone in the process.
Load More Replies...Yeah like she has so many body insecurities. She does Modeling and has a tv show. She really shouldn't be one to speak on body shaming.
Bored panda is starting to suck honestly. I'm sooo tired of the same lame content over and over. If I want to watch people argue on the internet I'll go to reddit or tumblr like please just bring back a majority of art/inspiration/animals!!!!
She is hot as hell and really shouldn't give a c**p what others say about her....
For the MAJORITY of people it is actually hard to not give a c**p about what other people say about their body shape or size / them. You need to be really strong to not give a c**p about what other people say. Even though it is the truth, please don't say this. It can make people feel weak, because they DO care what other people think. It's easier said than done. In my case, I do not give a c**p about what others say about my size. It is my body. I am however insecure about my body, because I gained pretty much weight. I used to be underweight for the majority of my life. I am not insecure because of what others say. But because I have been used to my underweight body and body shape for so long, so it feels like I am too big right now. Even while others say I look better this way.

Anyone else a little annoyed by the way these posts are being laid out now? Random picture, short string of tweets, random comment or repeat of a tweet, more random pictures, and then a request to put your comments below. Let's put a little more in to these. Otherwise just put a title "Body Shaming, let's discuss." And let us start talking about the subject. Jeez.
I don't care about your weight. I either like or dislike you for your personality.
just to justify -- body shaming is awful --- iam a victim of it - I am uncomfortabl walking the streets of my hometown where I grew up because of dereogtary comments from an ex partner
How about everyone on earth tries to keep their mouth shut about EVERYTHING for one day. Get a little perspective.
I don't get it. You have body dysmorphia and you go out and become an actress, a profession that requires you to constantly be in the spotlight? I don't think so. If you had body dysmorphia you would be in a dark room somewhere crying yourself to sleep like the rest of us, not posing for pictures in a bikini. So I don't get it, seriously.
all publicity is good publicity - cant remember where that quote is from

Load More Replies...I agree with the top 3 lines but the idea that talent does not matter in Hollywood is a lie, Jennifer Lawrence for example is very talented although good looking she's not super model good looking. Actresses that get by on their looks tend not to get taken serously, Emily Ratajkowski for example.
Load More Replies...Well, it is one of the issues that used to be taboo to be talked about and now is finally being properly discussed. Wow, what a horror - people trying to deal with their problems and sharing experiences! :O
Load More Replies...Nope. As the saying, "beauty is on the eye of the beholder", so is insecurity. Only you can feel it, everyone else might try to make you feel so, but it's always your choice to confirm or deny.
Load More Replies...Having that "ideal" weight (according to our weird society) and have a job that suits that body size, does not mean she can't be insecure. Having her talk about her insecurity and mental health BECAUSE of her weight, only helps people understand, that this body size is not everything and as important as it is told to be (again by our weird society). And not always good for your mental health. I do agree that media icons should vary more in size though. But her talking about body shaming does not affect people wanting to be that size. It even explains that this size can be harmful to how you feel about yourself and your mental health.
