Woman Posts Pics With Her First Gun Boasting Of Her ‘Safe’ Personality, Regrets It A Few Weeks Later
You have to be pretty careful about the things you say on social media. As so many people have found out to their cost, your past comments can be dug up and used against you to make you look pretty silly, hypocritical or even incriminate you if you really screwed up.
This was the case with Fiona, the subject of our story who uploaded a picture of herself and her new gun on the Facebook group DC9, and arrogantly defending her ‘safe’ personality and suitability for gun ownership. At the same time being, in her own words, a ‘flamboyant liberal queer.’ Whatever her political views have got to do with anything.
Right from the start the whole situation raised concerns for people who knew Fiona and expressed their doubts about her gun purchase. And sadly, now these guys get to say ‘I told you so.’
Mere weeks after Fiona’s purchase she got into a world of trouble. And you can scroll below to see how it panned out. Whether you think the public ridicule and shaming Fiona has received thanks to her Facebook post is a good thing or a bad thing is up to you, but it’s a lesson to us all. Be careful what you say; it’s out there for good and can easily come back to bite you on the ass. And oh yeah, please be careful with your guns, no matter your democrat or liberal views, OK?
This self-proclaimed ‘liberal queer’s’ story has spread online in the wake of the gun control debate
It immediately raised red flags even in the comments section below the post
And sure enough, it escalated quickly
The incident occurred on the streets of Las Cruces, New Mexico. A young woman and her 13-year-old sister were driving up to an intersection when another car, driven by Fiona, approached and began honking at them. According to a post by Las Cruces Police Department, “both vehicles turned north and both drivers engaged in aggressive driving.”
It was at this time, after an episode of reckless driving, that Fiona, for reasons unknown, fired a gun at the other vehicle, through her own rear windshield. Fiona then “fled the immediate area but was located a short while later at an apartment,” the Police reported. “She was taken into custody for aggravated assault, and police located a spent .380 caliber shell casing inside Fiona’s Mazda. Police also recovered the .380 caliber handgun Fiona is believed to have used.”
I'd also like to add I find this story hilarious.

Not everyone should own a gun. Here's a great example of someone who shouldn't. OTOH I've owned a gun for over 30 years, and it only has been fired on the gun range. That's the only place it should be fired unless it's in self-defense or a firearm that's used in hunting.
And that the problem with these twisted weasels. Every problem is solved with a gun...
I wouldn't say 'every' problem is solved with a gun, however reaching for a gun is at least as easy as reaching for a cellphone. We primates have been like this since the beginning of time, except that back then, you could throw rotten fruit or fling feces. Technology has given us far more deadly things to use, but evolution hasn't changed our temperament one bit.

A lot of people have gun here in CZ and many of my friends have gun too. Yet our country is one of the most safe in the Europe. Also look at Switzerland, they have very positive attitude towards firearms and I did not hear anything about them being hell on earth. But when in US there is a shooting suddenly everyone panics and "Guns are bad grab all guns" etc. Can´t you see that it is not guns but people? I would dare to say that it is this hipocrisy that is causing it. Not only shooters but also gun-grabbers have no responsibility and morals - they promote idea that people are not responsible for their deeds, just the guns are. This is just wrong on so many levels.
Also it is sad that the country that was born with ideals of freedom and democracy is turning into liberal wasteland police state with tons of bans and snooping. And people are just nodding and happily giving away their precious rights including firearms in hope of false feeling of safety .. In Europe something similar is happening in western countries, unfortunately they do not have historical experience with socialistic distatorship. So they cannot see this and they do not appreciate their fading freedom either :( When you wake up it will be too late. You won´t have firearms but also no privacy and no freedom. I think you are letting your emotions interfere with your thinking. Had you said that all gun owners should be properly trained in its safe use, I would agree. But 'trained professional' means someone paid to carry and use that gun, which would eliminate the overwhelming majority of citizens. Obviously you are not an American citizen, or care little for our Constitution. The 2nd Amendment is there for the purpose of guaranteeing the citizen's Liberty over an intrusive State.

I know her in real life. She once posted on Facebook that her parents were abusive and she was never going to talk to them again. In the comments, people asked what happened, and it turns out she agreed to let her friend store a desk at her parents' house without asking them first, and when the friend showed up with the desk, they said no. In her eyes this was enough to publicly call them abusive. Then a week later I checked, and she had deleted the post and made a new post about how her parents paid off all her student debt and how she loves them so much.

So I think it is infinitely more safe not being able to resort to guns as a means of venting. My two cents.

Her friend replied that they don't feel "confidently" about her owning a fire arm and she immediately went off the deep end being butt hurt. She then proves her friend right. Its not about the weapon its about the person who gets the weapon. Owning a weapon becomes a responsibility. You are responsible for its whereabouts 100% of the time and you become responsible for all actions used with that weapon. This means that if someone takes your weapon and hurts someone, you are ultimately still responsible. I do not advocate the restrictions of gun ownership, I advocate the responsible ownership. She obviously was not responsible enough to own something with so much available power.
No matter how many speeches a politician gives in favour of gun control, it's a safe bet that his own bodyguards are still packing heat. Even if he's giving a speech at a school or post office or other gun-free zone. The Secret Service and other professional-bodyguard types apparently don't trust the ability of "No guns allowed" signs to keep shooters from hitting their targets. That's the difference between public servants and the public they serve. Our servants' lives are considered much too valuable to risk in a gun-free zone.
