Homophobia is still well and alive amongst our society. Why it shouldn't be there are just too many reasons, which we are not going to explore this time. And while the internet can provide a platform to connect us, educate us, and mobilize us, it can also give people the opportunity to spread hateful views. Currently, there are 26 countries around the world that legally recognize same-sex marriage, and not everyone is happy about LGBT becoming a norm.
All across Twitter, Facebook, and even in text messages to family members, people have taken it upon themselves to profess their homophobic views. You can clearly see from these hateful texts, that broader vision and education is what these people need. Well, you can fight fire with fire, or you can take another route. Boring legal details: in the US, marriage is a secular matter. A marriage license is filed with the state in which the marriage occurred. The person who signs the marriage license must be recognized by the state as authorized to do so. That person might be a judge, a magistrate, or a religious cleric. Legalizing gay marriage only means that two persons of the same gender may be married by a person authorized by the state to do so, the state will recognize that union as valid. At no point are religious institutions informed by the US government that they must perform gay marriages, approve of gay marriages, or recognize gay marriages. If you don't approve of gay marriage, then don't get gay married!
Actually a few of my PoliSci classes in college we learned that in the U.S. marriage was used to protect the children of said union, not to define marriage at all. Matrimony is a religious union and marriage a legal union. Only issue is that is not what it says Deuteronomy 22:13-21. 13-19 are about a man who falsely accuses his wife about lying about being a virgin before marriage, and how he is punished for doing that. 20-21 is dealing with a woman who get married and before consummating with her husband has an affair she is executed. However the bible in absolutely no places that a woman who is not a virgin is executed or that a marriage is only valid if she is a virgin. Absolutely zero places it says that. Using Christianity to spread hate is the exact opposite of what you should do. I also hate just how worked up people get about homosexuality because of the Bible, but then families are torn apart by divorce and all kind of things and nobody seems to want to draw any attention to that. So when most people try to say that gay marriage is wrong, they use this passage. This is the only passage in the bible that is homophobic. But, this passage was originally greek. The original greek passage said, "Man shall not lay with BOY as he lieth with a woman..." It was a passage against pedophilia. So there is literally no passage in the bible that is against homosexuality. None. It just got lost in translation and people are too stupid to do their research. Obviously the bible wasn't originally in english, so some things would be lost.

Ehhh... again from Old Testament? For christians better is Romans 1:20-32. About Leviticus and Old Testament is very important to take in count that in that time world was not seculated and every law for hebrews was equal. There were no different laws for poor and rich, because these laws follow divine revelation which is beyond human nature. Nowadays in seculated society there is visible difference between moral law, religious law and criminal code. In ancient world there was not such clear lines between these laws. So here you are - both sides got it all wrong from beggining.
