A statue of Lenin in Odessa, Ukraine, that was scheduled for “decommunization” by president Petro Poroshenko has found new life as a monument to “Star Wars'” Darth Vader. Famous sculptor Alexander Milov, who’s previously been featured on Bored Panda, is unveiling the WiFi-enabled statue today at 11:00.
“The Bronze Lenin was left inside, so that the grateful or not so grateful descendants could exhume him, if needed,” Milov told the media. Asked to comment on the statue, a nearby factory’s warehouse manager waxed philosophical. “Everything glows, everything changes, old figures give wave to new ones, and so the world turns.”

I'm reading a book about life in Russia after the 1917 revolution, I think most folk would have rather had Darth Vader leading the country.

On a serious note...While I love Darth Vader and would have his statue rather than Lenin's, the fact that Ukraine has a political party (The Internet Party of Ukraine) lead by a "Darth Vader" character, who has been recently petitioned to be the Prime Minister of Ukraine just shows what kind of circus Ukraine has turned itself into... A president who is a drunkard and a puppet, and a Halloween costume who wants to be Prime Minister.

A bad idea...It's meaningless.... Lenin is a part of history, whether we agree or disagree with him. It is not possible to compare him with a fictional character like Darth Vader . I am not sure that somebody would remember Darth Vador after passing just some decades . Do you think that someone will know who Darth Vador was in 2066? It's pop culture and it will be changed very fast. Those movies were made just for entertainment and nothing else. they have to change that statue very soon and replace it with a new one... :)))) because it becomes old and out of fashion and it looks awkward, like someone who wears 50's clothes and walking in the streets in 2016. If those people disagreed with Lenin' s idea , it would better they replace Lenin's statue with a real character in Ukraine's history, sport or science... It could be more meaningful and off course durable :)

idiots... and not because i love Lenin. But this is historic heritage, whether you like it or not. removing lenin statue does not do anything, it is what you can build instead what really matters. This people have nothing, no values, no respect. They are just greedy monsters. They remove Lenin statues, because these monuments are just the reminders of their own corruption and ruthlessness.
