I do not know why this is not higher up on the list! My husband actually laughed. He NEVER laughs. He also said, "We should do this. On the garage door. The neighborhood will *love* us." We have never decorated. :)

As a European (Dutch) woman, I like the many many lights. Over here in the Netherlands there is not (as) much decoration outside of the house at most houses. So I enjoy watching the American Christmas decorations on the outside of the houses. But I do like the ones on this list too! Just because of the funny factor. The one thing I always wonder though, is how much electricity this must cost! Nowadays it would be less with LED-lights I guess. But before that. I guess the over-the-top decorations outside (and in) must cause a huge electricity bill!

Did this many years ago with wrapping paper when we couldnt afford the tree, we still woke up that morning as a family and the kids still had fun. He looks happy so I say WINNER!

One year when my kids were little we didn't have a tree or any money to get one so we made one by putting lights on the wall in the shape of a tree. The kids thought it was great.

Now this gave me sweet memories. I remember mom once did a tree like this one. She was on a budget and also wanted to try something different, so she got a dried branch she found (it was actually very pretty, with many sub branches, lets say), added some cotton to make snow, and a few colorful decorations. I actually REALLY liked it, and it's still a very dear memory to me ^^

Everyone has the right to decorate as they wish , or, not at all. As hard as I tried , I couldn't figure out the timer for the wreath on the front door . I brought the wreath in & hung it over the fireplace so I wouldn't have to brave the cold to plug it in & unplug it. First Christmas since husband died. I've got a lot to learn

It drives my mother batty that I will not decorate for Christmas. I'm lazy, and do not want to put it all up, take it all down, and find a place to store it all. This year she tried to give me decorations and I refused them. She got upset and I countered with "I'm sorry, but my house, my rules". My 16 year old self was laughing maniacally.

Stupid police having no humor at all. :) I would have love that! :D But yeah, they're not lazy, they're humorous people who put more time to something more important I guess. :) Personally I love to decorate for Christmas, but it's not like you have to do it.
