Las Vegas From 10,800 Feet Up Looks Like Nothing You’ve Seen Before

Famous photographer Vincent Laforet takes amazing night photos of city skylines, and his amazing photos of Las Vegas are no exception. Laforet, who has also photographed New York’s city lights from bird’s eye view, turns Sin City into an incredible neon metropolis surrounded by a desert of darkness.

The photographer ascended with a helicopter to 10,800 feet above sea level to get the best aerial view. It took him a lot of courage to take the step out onto the skids, but his fear disappeared once he saw the view. The City of Sins became an island of light. The professional equipment he used allowed him to take the high-quality crystal-clear aerial photography shots that he has dreamed of capturing for decades.

Surreal... almost looks like toyland in some photos, and like electronic parts in others. Lovely photos!

The tilt shift one's are spectacular, Vegas really looks like a giant circuit board from up there.

Put a shade on everyone of those lights so the light goes down where people need it, instead of up where it obliterates the stars.

If you open up, you lose the color. You want to keep good blacks and good color. These are "art" photos ... not purely informational photos.

Wow this is cool. It's like it's imaginary, which suits Vegas to a T! Great stuff.

I wish they had interlaced some older images to show the change. The photos are very cool!

Good photos but way too much light pollution. On a clear night the Vegas sky dome can be seen from the Grand Canyon.
