i have a couple trans friends and i always try to be as supportive as possible. PRO TIP FOR ALL Y'ALL TRYING TO BE GOOD ALLIES OUT THERE: if your friend comes out or if you meet a trans person, they probably wont get mad at you for forgetting pronouns sometimes. but WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT question their decision unless they EXPLICITLY ask for your advice. just take it at face value. chances are they really need that from someone.
I work at a facility with teenagers and help with training on certain topics. We teach the staff that adolescence is naturally a time of identity development and that the youth in our care are all over the map with this process. Some kids are very sure of and open about their gender identity or sexual orientation. Some kids are still exploring who they genuinely are and aren’t ready to openly label themselves. We teach staff it’s not their place to push them one way or another. Their job is to meet the kids wherever they are and show them caring, acceptance, and support. We don’t specifically direct the staff not to question them though but maybe we should add that in because I can see how invalidating and potentially harmful that would be. I wish everyone had friends like this; hopefully their family supports them as well. My kiddo knows that we'll support her no matter what; it hurts my heart so much when I hear of kids who don't have the support and love of their family.
I've got a non-binary coworker and I support them in the same way they support me. I'm not straight. There's a young man (yes, he's trans) and I talked him out of suicide.

Melts my heart. I hired a trans woman recently and she is so sweet and one of our top team members. Really happy to have her. She said people were afraid to hire someone "different" - I don't get it. This is a person with feelings, hopes, dreams, desires just like any other person in the planet. Don't understand the small minded mentality.

it's alright! things change fast and it gets hard to keep up. trans (transgender) means you don't identify with the sex assigned to you at birth. like the young woman in the picture, whose birth certificate probably says "male". cis (cisgender) is the opposite, it means your birth certificate is accurate to who you are now. and non-binary people don't identify as male or female, they are "outside the binary". hope that makes sense :)

My little brother was drunk and we had to catch the train home. He asked every single persons in the train station (5 - 10? I can't remember) where the train was going, was this the right train for us etc. He told them "I need to make sure my sister gets home safe".
I do for some games, but not others. It really depends on my mood I guess.
