Toddler Befriends A Creepy Skeleton His Parents Got As A Halloween Decoration, Even Has It Watch Over Him As He Sleeps
Usually, you don’t know if a person is going to be your (best) friend when you meet them. But that wasn’t the case for Theo, a 2-year-old boy from Salt Lake City, Utah. When he saw Benny, the boy immediately knew they were going to become buddies despite the differences between them. And he was right. Neither Benny’s height nor his lack of skin and internal organs was a problem; the toddler and the 5-foot skeleton instantly hit it off.

Everything started back in September when Theo’s mom Abigail was going to take him to a reservoir. As they were getting ready to leave, the air felt moist, and since it’s pretty rare in a Utah home, Abigail decided to investigate. “I went downstairs and noticed the water heater had flooded the basement,” she told Bored Panda.
“The basement is unfinished so it wasn’t that big of a deal. While I was cleaning up the mess, Theo found the skeleton among all of the decorations. Once I had everything cleaned up, [it was time to head] to the reservoir. However, he refused to get into the car without his skeleton. So the skeleton came along on a fun adventure with us. Since then they have been inseparable.”

According to his mom, Theo has a heart of gold and loves being around people and spending time with kids his age.
When he takes Benny to the public, passers-by probably see how genuine the toddler’s emotions are because their reactions are usually just as wholesome. “People are really nice and sweet about the whole thing,” Abigail said. “It definitely makes a lot of people smile. A few [also] come up to us and say that it’s so cute.”

Abigail thinks the quarantine has been really hard on Theo. Prior to the pandemic, they did weekly playdates and all, but once they had to social distance, they had to stop attending these playdates.
So keeping in mind what’s going on in the world right now, the woman doesn’t blame her son for wanting a new BFF, even if Benny is a little on the quiet side.

People are really happy for Theo, and some parents recalled their kids’ interesting friendships as well
This is so cute but the sad part is that during the quarantine he misses people so much that he always wants something that resembles a person around him....orr I could just be reading into it too much and two year olds are just cute and random ;)
Yes, you’re reading WAY too much into it. Kids just do random things. :)
Load More Replies...I have a 6 foot tall glow in the dark skeleton that I got for my Halloween display and would happily keep him around at all times. Kudos to these parents for enabling their son to feel more happy and secure in the world!
When he forgets about it and grows up... one day his parents will remind him... That he slept with a skeleton watching over him...
This is cute now but if he feels the same way when he hits his teens he may have trouble fitting in.
