Women Are Posting Their Post-Birth Pics After Kate Middleton’s Flawless Photos To Show How Different It Was For Them
After the birth of their third child, Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge did what royal family is expected to do and presented the youngest heir to the throne of the family for the world to see.
Kate Middleton was, as you would expect from a royal, well-groomed and putting on her best face, despite giving birth just hours previously. Some people were shocked however, by just how amazing she looked, flawless and still sporting that pregnancy glow in full makeup and heels. This has prompted a variety of responses, from sympathy for the amount of pressure she must experience to look her best even hours postpartum, to criticism for creating impossibly high expectations for other women.
But the best responses are from those new moms who are sharing their own hilariously real and disheveled post-birth photos. Not everyone has the luxury of a team of makeup and hair professionals at their disposal!
Obviously, the Duchess was just doing her job and probably loves these tongue-in-cheek comparisons. Giving birth is seriously hard work, and while Kate is required to go out into the glare of the media spotlight and be a role model, most women prefer a hard-earned rest and a square meal. Scroll down to check out the hilariously real post-natal comparisons for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!
Kate Middleton is known for looking flawless on all occasions and giving birth is no exception. Here’s how she looked just hours after giving birth to her third child

Naturally, people started wondering what sorcery this is

Some even said she must be the real Wonder Woman

Other moms started saying she’s just hiding it all in and shared messages of compassion
And some were setting new goals for themselves in life

the best healthcare in the world doesn't magic a baby out of your vagina...
Load More Replies...Okay, I have a bit of an unrelated question - why does everyone keep talking about her as "Kate Middleton", when she hasn't been Kate Middle ton for 7 years? (Round of applause for all mothers - I really can't understand your powers.)
Because they lack the knowledge perhaps? She's Kate Mountbatten-Windsor. I seriously doubt a family as old fashioned as the Royals would have let her keep her maiden name! She correctly should be referred to as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.. Some people abbreviate it to Kate Cambridge as it's less of a mouthful. Kate Middleton is not her name now as she took William's surname upon marriage and they try very hard to get people to refer to her as Catherine. That's the name William uses in public. The celebrities mentioned might only use their maiden names as that is the name they had when they became famous. Catherine Zeta Jones is known as Mrs Douglas outside of her work. Cate Blanchett is Cate Upton. Using their maiden names gets them a degree of anonymity should they want it.
Load More Replies...Bet she collapsed in bed as soon as she was home. With an entire team taking care of you, you can hold it together for a few minutes to take pictures. It also depends on how easy the birth was. After my first C-section I didn't know what reality was until the 3rd day and after my 2nd C-section I was walking up and down the hallways in the hospital 2 hours after surgery.
Exactly !!! She had a rather quick delivery, a lot of make up, and it's only for 5 minutes in front of the cameras.
Load More Replies...If everyone had hair and make up teams and gave birth in a swanky private hospital, I'm sure they'd look this good immediately afterwards too.
Possibly, but don't forget that she is in exceptionally good physical condition. She works out and is healthy. That helps with giving birth and recovery.
Load More Replies...I have read that the third birth is often the easiest, but it might be a load of rubbish. Regardless I expect she had all the drugs available and everything that could be done for her would have been. She then had a team of people in to make her look good. She won't have been drying her own hair or putting on her own make up. Also, If she had an epidural she might have slept through a some of it, my sister did. We can't compare because we're not on equal footing.
She has been violently ill through all three of her pregnancies - she can't stop vomiting. Women with her condition do have miscarriages because of it. NO ONE would want to go through a pregnancy like that - and she's done it three times. Hopefully she doesn't do it again.
Load More Replies...I love that these woman can see the humor in the "realities" they experienced! Though I wonder how different Kate's reality was than what was portrayed, she really went through it too! She may have felt a lot worse than she looked and been just like all those other pics the moment she got home!
I'm quite sure she was grinding her teeth behind the smile and plopped herself down on the bed the instant they got indoors. I get the dress and makeup, but high heels?
Load More Replies...THIS! Exactly this! I would also rather look disheveled and be in bed resting with my baby than look perfect and have to be standing in public in heels and a dress while blood clots the size of tangerines fall out of my vagina.
Load More Replies...She shouldnt have been under the pressure to appear publicly and be seen by hundreds of millions of people so soon after giving birth. Surely William could have brought the baby out for the photo-op allowing Kate a day or so to get herself together first.
She may well have been desperate to go home - people recover better at home and it's not as though she would have had an arduous journey. I know I was desperate to leave when I was in hospital. They practically had to tie me up with a drip to stop me leaving!
Load More Replies...How about who gives a s**t about a rich snobby woman, she should be ashamed of herself throwing it in people's faces that she gives birth in the best hospital with the best of everything while others suffer being poor. F**k em both
I think she has the babies about 2 days prior and they just pretend she had it that day in order to give her some privacy and time to recuperate before the photographers come swarming.
That would be really funny! Perhaps she has a double who went in first thing that morning.
Load More Replies...Everyone's talking about how awesome she looks but I can only think about the agony she is in from the expectations being royalty is putting on her. She's probably in agonizing pain.
Maybe she was on a post-birth high? Regardless, I've no doubt that they'll have managed her pain exceptionally well. Not everyone is in agony after a birth either. It depends on so many factors. One of my sister's got ripped to shreds and, yes, was in pain. Another felt amazing. Catherine did leave very soon after the birth but that might have been because she felt she could. If she genuinely wasn't up to it then no-one is likely to have put her health and well being at risk.
Load More Replies...I think all you ladies look beautiful. I'm not one to gush, but giving birth is a rough thing to do. And I really truly think all of you new moms are just as gorgeous as Kate.
Mh... I was fine after giving birth... Tbh, all I wanted (NEEDED!) Was to walk, move my legs so blood could circulate. Well I was certainly ugly as f**k but not drained. But how the f**k did she manage to get out of the hospital just 7 hours later? They didn't even let me go pee by myself 7 hours later 😑😑😑 And in France you're stuck at the hospital for 3days at best after giving birth. Soooo frustrating.😒
Depends what baby number it is. With the first they like to keep you a few days in.the UK but once you're onto the second + you can get out of the hospital pretty quickly. My mum left so quickly after giving birth to me it was before they even had the chance to do the ceremonial birth certificate, so I only have my official one!
Load More Replies...She looks fabulous, but I also feel a bit sorry for her because this glamorous appearance only goes to show that she can't allow herself a moment of unwinding and being natural. The pressure must be incredible. Imagine stepping out like that just hours after giving birth, knowing that photographers are ready to snap your picture and show it to the world. She might be feeling like c**p inside, but the makeup covers any dark circles. Oh, and the lady who had a daughter via c-section and is holding her on her lap... Her daughter looks so adorably like a curled up cat I can't even!
Ok, Not to be sayin stuff, just to be sayin stuff, but maybe it isn't her baby, aybe someone had it for her!!! Hmmmmmmmmm...8a944e.jpg
I suspect that, with a hell of a lot of help, she was able to get it together just long enough for the pictures, and couldn't wait for it to be over. You know, the show must go on and all that. I am willing to wager good substantial money that she utterly collapsed once out of the spotlight.
Oh get over yourselves. Everyone's birth experience is different and they're not going to show us intimate pics immediately after delivery - what do you idiots think we are them? Family?
In Africa many women work until the last day and many start doing normal life things almost next day.
Who cares about the monarchy. So boring. *gag*. Republic, Republic, Republic.
people are complaining about kate being paraded. I feel sorry for her, but let's face the fact that there is a 7-hour old infant being paraded too. those dishcloths won't keep the poor child from hypothermia! not fair for the baby. not fair for either of them
It was a warm day, in fairness. The baby was well wrapped up (dishcloths?) and you can make a baby ill if you let them get too warm as well as ill if too cold. My friend's baby got too hot, went floppy and wouldn't feed and as no-one came to see her for several hours and it was her first child she didn't notice and just thought he was sleeping very well. This was while still in hospital and in this hospital they were insisting on having the wards hotter than an oven. A lot of people were complaining. Fortunately a midwife eventually came along, had to strip the baby and cool him down. The baby prince was only outside for 5 minutes then whisked away in a very plush car for a short journey. There is no way that they would risk any harm to him.
Load More Replies...That's so mean. I had a very easy first delivery and my second was tough. Just like everyone is different so are the pregnancies too. And btw what if she had walked out looking like one of the other moms in the pictures? People would have still criticised her saying she has all the help she could get and still didn't make an effort to look presentable! Right?
I'm so glad smartphones weren't around 21 years ago when I had my daughter!
That's me post baby! I couldn't stand due to all the drugs that caused my legs not to work for 18 hours lol But Kate has a team of people to help her look awesome so I'm not surprised at all she looks so great! I do feel for her though to have to do all that so soon after birth. Bonding time is important with just your husband and kids
i know its not a piece of cake but a lot of those pictures are so dramatic. i know for me after giving birth i wanted to make sure i looked amazing because people were going to come visit me in herds. So yeah i put myself together quick. had my hair done nails and toes done prior to coming to the hospital all four times. Gotta be ready for those selfies lol..lol..lol..lol..
They put her through makeup and hair stylist just after she gave birth for that photo. She didn't get the chance to just lay there, happy her baby is healthy and okay
I DO have a team of professional makeup and hair care professionals, and as an actress, my job is also to go out into the glare of the media spotlight, which is something I love. Since I don't have kids (by choice), I can't post a picture of me after giving birth, but I can post one taken just a few hours after I was in a major car accident that was not my fault. Here it is: New-Years-...63478e.jpg
Oh, please. We had all showered and probably done our hair before we left the hospital, too. (Really? You didn't? You put on clothes with all that nasty funk still covering you and just called it good? I see a future hoarder in you). They didn't get pictures of Kate "after the birth", they got pictures of her on her way home. If I knew my photo was going to be snapped be a millions freaking paps upon leaving the hospital, I'd have looked stunning as well.
It's in the genes. Princess Kate is an extremely good looking woman.
nothing against kate, but, all of the women pictured above are regular, common people. i'm sure the difference in the care she got versus any of these other women was substantial. these other women also forgot to alert support staff for their "photo op".
There is no such thing as "royal" or "common," and no one person is "above" anyone else. All people are created equal!

Just because some people don't have it easy after child birth doesn't mean no one else can. I remember my mum could lift Mt Everest with a finger almost after every birth of my siblings. The same thing goes for my aunts, my mum's sisters. It's not an impossible thing. Our pain tolerances are not the same.
I feel bad for her quite honestly. Instead of being able to enjoy her baby and looks like c**p and not give a damn she is expected to be all dolled up and proper after giving birth. I don't envy her at all.
I bet that when she got into their car with the tinted windows she just let herself go 'splat' in the seat saying "thank god that's over"
This has been an interesting read ! First of all, no two births are the same, not to mention the many factors involved such as age, health, weight gain etc; etc;
Well difference between her and them, she got an entire team standing by for the baby, make-up, clothes, hair,... She went through the same thing as the others but can't really come out looking all messy as royalty :P All that for a few mins of showing the baby and getting pics taken.
Considering all the hate and condescending comments "royalty" sometimes gets about their looks/outfits, imagine the comments if she did come out of the hospital without being "cleaned" up like that.
Load More Replies...She's the royal mom, that's her job in life, to make babies. She doesn't punch a timeclock, she doesn't have daily alarms. Unfair! It's her third bub (probably not a long vaginal delivery labour), it's 7 hours on, and she does look quite tired to me. Of course, many, many women are completely exhausted after a difficult and sometimes traumatic labour. Some of us are fortunate and can stand, walk and smile 7 hours after delivery. I put in an order for my business 1 hour after delivery of my second child (but no make-up or front door stop photos) which was 1 1/2 hours as compared to the 18 hour labour of my first born. Congrats to all women who accomplish delivery of babies (with or without makeup) :)
It's easy. Just get a team of stylists, fashion coordinators, hair dressers, make up artists, dress designers and a choreographer to state it and you would look fabulous too.
You can add all these photos to the laundry list of reasons why I am never having kids. Luckily I only have a few more years of BC left then it's menopause time!!

Random and mostly unrelated question, but I've always wondered why so many people appear to not be wearing a top in post birth photos. What is that about?
Incidentally when skin to skin contact is used with premature babies for medical reasons it's often called "kangaroo care" also unrelated but I think it's cool!

1. Because it's all an illusion 2. WHY do we have to flip out every time something happens in the royal family and hear it on the news for days on end in the United States? For real......I don't care.
Well, Bored Panda is not an American website, so... ;)
Load More Replies...Ridiculous to have her trotted out in high heels and makeup right then. Why on earth couldn't William have come out with the baby, shown him off and Cate be left alone. Yes, CATE because that is how her name is spelled, Media! And she's not "Middleton" and hasn't been for many years. It's insulting to be continually called by your surname as though she's a brickie on a building site.

I still feel bad about my birth because i kept my mum in labor for 29 hours and she ended up with 43 stitches down under. And she was doing the washing again two days after.

Yes, CATE because that is how her name is spelled, Media! And she's not "Middleton" and hasn't been for many years. It's insulting to be continually called by your surname as though she's a brickie on a building site.
